Stripped 2 bolts, one on each side (thank God not on the same side).
I think the car should be fine though, anybody disagree?
Just want to see if it is imparative that I get them fixed or not.
Thanks.

lucky you only stripped them.. those bolts are very easy to break.

Thanks.
I was really careful in tightening them and I just used one hand and a ratchet.
I would have probably broken all of them had I used an actual torque wrench.

what bolts are you supposed to use for this bar?

you use the stock bolts and nuts at the top of the strut towers.. the bar should fit perfectly with a little force

can we buy replacement studs from toyota for this, i was looking at them from under the car and it seems like the studs were machined pressd (like wheel studs) and can probably be replaced.
Torque specs for my car are 29lbs, the Celica is probably the same.

What you can do is get a tap and die (I forgot which one is used to repair stripped bolts, i think it's a die), and carefully re-cut the threads into the bolt. I did that to one of the bolts I stripped, and it works fine againl.

^^did you ever fix it?
nope. but since the stock nuts are pretty deep, it broke off the top half of the stud, so i was able to just use a couple washers and a regular nut for a while. i got some jic sf1's so they replaced the upper pillowball mounts

yea, thats the only thing stopping from me fixin the stripped ones i have...it just gives me more of an excuse to buy the cusco pillow ball mounts.
