Hey guys,
Has anyone recently ordered Goodridge SS Lines? It seems this isn't a part that companies just stock. It's apparent that these lines are made when the demand arises. I tried ordering my lines from Stillen and it's going to take about 30 days to receive since Goodridge manufactures them by hand, from what the Stillen rep told me.
This kinda sucks since I was hoping to put on my rotors from iRotors and Axxis Ultimate pads next weekend. Have any of you ever had experience with upgrading your brakes, rotors, and lines? I would ask if anyone would like to offer help from those of the experience with upgrading their Celica. I'm in Pennsylvania if anyone is willing to help me out.
Thanks for your input all.
Regards,
Hector

Previous owners have had problems with bad fitment and the lines grinding away at anything they touch, since they don't have a protective covering (steel braiding is basically a hacksaw when it has no covering). If you want good brake lines, go with Stoptech.

I just purchased them this morning from http://www.buybrakes.com
Fairly descent deal. I wish I had known about the promotional code so that I could've gotten the 10% off. I could use it towards something else.
Thanks for your reference! Now if I could have a celica owner or two help me out. Anyone willing to venture on this project with me that has done a brake job change? That is lines, f & r pads and rotors, and one caliper. I'd be willing to drive about 2 hours or so. Anyone close to Bradford, PA 16701, please let me know! I'd really appreciate it.

Hector

Thanks Sixth Gear. I already purchased the stoptech lines from buybrakes.com I was just wondering if there were any celica owners that wanted to get together one day to help me install my rotors, pads, and 1 caliper that needed to be changed. Anyone? Anyone? I'll drive about 150 miles from Bradford, PA 16701. Is there anyone that lives by Rockland County about 30 miles north of NYC? I'll be visiting my family there within the next month. If anyone close to that location would like to help me, that would be excellent. Anyone that's willing to help would be awesome.
Thanks in advance!

Blue Lucifer, you can use 08010 for an additional $10.00 off! If that doesn't work, try inputting the word "Factory", without the quotation marks.
Good luck!

Anyone have any experience with these brakelines?

Doesn't say which brand they are. Maybe they make them theirselves? It also doesn't look like they are covered but it says the kit comes with all 4. For a GT, the rears lines are kinda hard to find, correct? Can anyone enlighten me?

i got the powerslot big brake kit on the way... and i thought of doing a switch over concerning the brake lines, but i didn't want to pay a butt load to have someone put them on..... how hard is the install???.... im going to do the rotor upgrade myself with a friend..... so maybe i won't be as hard as that... anybody?

Changing the brake lines actually isn't that difficult. The time consuming part might be just be bleeding the brakes, but even that isn't that hard as long as you have someone with you helping you. I just made the switch to cross-drilled/slotted rotors, Axiss Ultimate Pads, ATE brake fluid, and Stoptech lines. All I can say is what a difference it makes. Just make sure you have someone helping you bleed the lines.

I heard that ATE Racing brake fluid was a good brand through many individuals. So I picked it up. It's a synthetic dot 4 fluid. I'd have to admit that the reviews held up to it's own. My car is braking on a dime with the setup that I've gone with and I wouldn't trade these for stock. As for other brands, I think Motul is another good brand.
Good luck with the install. When are you going to do the install?

^^^ i should be receiving the rotor kit this week, so ill be puttin them on this weekend. i still need to order the brake lines, so i might have to wait until next week to install those.... but yeah, i have heard of motul, but not ATE.... but that's ok.. i might still go with that brand.... how hard is it to drain the brake fluid? ..... but yeah, i can't wait for the kit... im runnin 18s and i can tell it is wearing on my stock setup... plus my friend got the powerslots on his 00 si and it not only looks great, but it stops like crzy..... could you post pics of your setup??? and how big are your current rotors?

you dont drain the fluid out of the lines.. you do not want to let the fluid resevoir go empty that is a no-no.. basically if you are completely changing the fluid.. just let the stock fluid get fairly low and instead of filling it up with the stock fluid after bleeding just fill with the new fluid till the stock fluid is completely out of the system.. but never let the resevoir go empty

Sixth Gear,
Why is letting the fluid resevoir go empty a no no? When you're adding in a brand new product, synthetic fluid for example, you do want to completely flush out the old fluid. I don't seem to be having any problems after my install.

it makes it a lot harder to get air out of the lines especially if you have ABS.. if you completely let the fluid go empty

I have a celica GT. So that would mean that I would have to get the fronts listed there ( 85-855-4500 F ) for the GT. I hate to sound like a noob, but does that mean I have to order the GTS ( 85-855-5500 R) for the GT rear drums? Is this correct?

stoptech doesn't make rear brake lines for the GT yet so no the rear brake lines designed for the GTS will not work on the GT

Hey all, I found out that the brake lines that Titan Motorsports sells are the Goodridge brake lines:angry:. I asked them after I purchased them on line :idiot:, but the guy that answered when I called before I received them didn't know either:confused:. Unless you want Goodridge lines don't purchase them from Titan Motorsports.
