I have one amp thats connected to 2 subs.
One set of wire is connected to the amp and one of the sub.
The 2nd sub has another set of wire, which i joined with the the 1st set of wire to connect at one sub.

Why is it that only one sub is working?sorry if my description sounds retarded.

what type of amp and subs do you have? is the amp monoblock or stereo? if it is stereo, you may have to bridge them. what is the impedence of the subs? are they dual voice coils? give us more info.

here is a wiring wizard http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard.asp

check each sub by powering them like this.

What I would do is bridge the two channels and wire the subs like #2 above.

Umm, do you have a model number for both the amp and the two subs? You might be wiring it all incorrectly, and you might be blowing your amp.

^^ yea seriously, you know some amps carry huge loads. Ok but really we need more info because not every amp bridges the same and we dont know if you have SVC or DVC subs

If its a two channel amp then you just connect the positive wire to the positive terminal on channel 1 and the negitive wire to the negitive terminal on channel 2.

Channel 1
+ <-----Positive wire
-

Channel 2
+
- <-----Negitive wire
