well guys, i just want to know if the plastics have any purpose. like would having them out of your car do anything bad to the engine?

i'm pretty much positive that the big one and the one on the front left are ok(in the view of the driver). I'm asking more on the fuse box lids (the big one and the small one near the air box).

would taking those off be bad?
what kind of protection does those lids give the fuses?
what should i do if i do remove them?

i'm planning on repainting mine but this time take my time with sanding, primer, painting so i just want to know if i should be careful. since i cant really do this durning the weekday(stuck at college) the plastics would be off for like a week or two.. i'm guessing the main problem would be rain and heat. it hasnt been raining lately or seems like it will, but yeah. heat being the heat from the engine.

I think they just make it look nice since people these days just want them to look nice, and don't know anything about what parts are actually attached to an engine. Look at any older car, and you'll see that all that stuff is exposed.

I'd keep you fuse box lids on though. You don't want water geting in the fuses and causeing them to rust.
