Which one and why? I don't want remote start (stick) or anything terribly fancy, but I want it to do the job. Also, what can you tell me about paging alarms? Thanks!

I have a DEI alarm, they are your basic alarm that you can add features to and what not, for example I have a window rollup on mine, it does the whole keyless entry, impact sensor, loud a@@ siren if anything is triggered, you will find the DEI alarms under the names Hornet, Viper, and I think there are a couple others,

What every you do do not get a Alpine alarm they suck I had one in my old car and it just gave me problems here and there, and that siren sucked.

Paging alarms are used mostly with High dollar systems, they are really cool but they cost a lot of money, they have features that protect everything in your car, Speakers, H/U ETC... They aren't worth the money IMO. unless you have a need for such protection.

Check out www.compustar.com. This is what I got, and I like it. It has a paging LCD screen to alert you to the car status.

I would go with DEI too. I have the Python1500 and it is great. i added the auto window. They have a bunch of extra add ons if you want to add it on at anytime.

python works for me. i wanted a nifty looking remote thing, but i got this plain a$$ one.... o well. it works. although sometimes u gotta walk a little closer to the car to unlock thru the remote... probably the way with all remotes.... no problems tho.
