just postin to tell any ex-everythingcelica.com members bout where the community has moved to since its close. i know how most of the members on here feal about the admin/owner of ec, but this site is under completely different management(if you want to call it that), and any members from here are welcome to join as well. I'd also like to say, i'm checking out this site as well, but since i dont have a 7th gen, i probably wont stick around, plus being a head admin of allgencelica and a mod for 4gcelica.net, most my online time is spent there. here is the link to our forums (http://allgencelica.proboards40.com/index.cgi), sorry, no homepage yet, were working on that still, and after that upgrading the forums...so dont comment on the free site its hosted on, the site was intended on being temporary while ec was down, but ec is gone for good, so its no longer that.

i'm on the site as well.

i will say a few things though:

1. both admins don't drive 7th gens. they do drive very nice all-tracs but i'm more into model-specific sites where the information is usually more intense. the more 'spread out' the information the less concentration of information

2. almost everyone on there is ex-ec and one of the admins said it was "kind of a replacement to EC". so you're already down two shots. less concentration on a specific model and then you have many of the ec people who are hardly educated on their own cars. ec was NOT a technical resource and i couldn't count the number of times people have replied in posts to visit the "other celica site" (since you cant say newcelica.org) to get the answer to a very specific problem.

not saying it can't become a very nice site in the future, just saying there is a lot of work to do. if you don't want it to be a technical resource then thats fine and you already have your wish. but there are things you can do to help boost the sites repuation like breaking the forums down into more specific groups, doing away with some of the existing forums (to prevent too much 'clutter'), and do a helluva lot of research and make meaningful stickies on particular subjects. oh..and don't start locking threads left & right or start banning people. this is a MUST if you want to have any credibility whatsoever.
