Hello,

Can anyone suggest a good source for the remote turn on for an amp in a 2002 Celica GTS? I am keeping the Factory deck, and factory full range speakers. I am just adding a subwoofer and amp. I plan to feed the amp with signals from the rear speakers. I don't know if the fuse box or factory deck would be the best place to tap for the remote turn on.

Any replys will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Find the constant wires after you radio.

You want to splice into the wire that is grey with silver dots on it. That is ACC which supplies power only when the car is on or the key is turned to ACC.

you could tap into the radio , if you want something alittle more easy, go with the cig lighter. thats switched power. and it's easy to get to

Thanks for the info guys! What if I want to power up the amp only when the stereo is on, and not when the ignition is on? Could I do that through the fuse box, or do I have to yank the radio out?

Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!

In the diagram for the 8 speaker system connector, would I use connection 3 or connection 11? I think 3 would be the right one?

Is their a fuse/relay for the factory radio that is running through an ACC type circuit?

Thanks!!!!

I've never checked to see if the fuse for the radio has 12V applied at all times or only when the key is turned to ACC or ON. I think your best bet is to tap into the cig lighter like nd4spd said or tap into the ACC wire connected to the radio.

You can do what I did, Attach a remote wire to your + side of your car battery...put a power switch in the extra bays on the driver side, then run another remote line to the amp. It allows you to run the subs whenever you want, if you feel like listening to the stereo w/o subs....just flip the switch

What about a toggle switch? I ran a wire alongside my wire from the battery to the amp, with a small detour through a toggle switch I had placed on the driver kick panel, so when I decide to turn on the amp, I flip the switch. When I get close to my home in the ghetto, I turn the switch off, no bass. Easy to do, with the added benefit of letting you control when it's on, sometimes your passenger insists on quiet...damn women

well i don't know if you already have the amp, but you could get an amp that doesn't need a remote turn on wire. such as the jls. they just sense a signal from rcas on their sub amps anyway. not to mention they have great crossovers and stuff.
