now the connector and plug are melted to eachother and i don't think there is enough power going into my headlight. I have changed from 100w to 55w lookalikes so it won't melt the other one...anyone have this problem and have looked into replacing their harness? how much was it?

It's like this:

P (power in watts) = I (current in amps) x E (voltage)

or

I = P/E which normally is 4.5 amps and that is what the wiring is designed for.

Now plug in your 100 watt bulbs and your 4.5 amp designed wiring now has 8.3 amps running through them. The size of wires used is based on the current that normally passes through them. The wiring harness simply can't handle the current load of bulbs rated at a higher wattage that they were designed for (i.e. stock) and you really can't expect them to.

If you want the "HID" look, then save your money (and wires) and go with real HID.
