Type of paint?

What type of paint did you guys use for the engine plastics? I used VHT because I thought it would hold up to the heat but it started to pill the first day. What should I use ?

You need to use a plastic primer first. It will prevent chipping and peeling.

i posted this is the newbie section, but i guess i'll try it here too.

well i decided that i'm going to repaint my plastics and i was wondering if its ok to have them out of the car for a long period of time. i'm not talking about the big ones but the ones for the fuse and relay(the big one and the small next to the air box).

does the cover provide any vital protection?
is this a bad idea to drive with those off for a period of a week or 2?


edit: well going back to the topic... the first time i did it i didnt use primer and it has been holding ever since. i think the key idea is to sand the hell out of the plastics first. but since i'm going to repaint it, i'm going to take my time and so i'm going to use a couple of primer coats on it.
