CF Hoodscoop update thread

Since I receive a dozen emails, IM's, or PM's a day...hopefully this will satisfy your needs for now so I don't have to feel bad about not responding to a PM immediately. This is the update from the company Cerious Performance Ltd. I will post any and all updates within 10 minutes from receiving them, so PLEASE save yourself and myself some time by not sending me additional messages outside of this thread. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Latest email reads:

We are still waiting, this kind of thing doesn't happen overnight, 45 scoops is a lot of scoops. We depend on many other manufacturers to make these parts, no matter who you get them from it would take this long. I got word from the factory some were shipped on the 8th, i hope to get them this week. We have many customers, including yours, waiting patiently there was no way we could predict this high sudden demand. We have carried these parts for a couple of years and sales were low, now with the sudden spike, more molds must be done and it takes longer, on average it takes 3 days to finish 1 part. I'm sure you could go to some other company in china and have them made faster and much lower quality, but we don't, we take pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our products and offer our customers some of the highest quality products on the market. It clearly says on our site special orders can take a long time(i.e. no given time period for finish) if you did not agree to this you should not have placed the order. It's fine if you need to cancel your order, especially if hundreds of people already are complaining about this few weeks delay.We are not a bad company, we stand behind our products, and as I said before I will keep you updated, we have kept our word. The initial time line was just an estimate, it was not a guarantee, you should not have told people the products would be done in a specific time frame(see t&c). You can wait or cancel, it's up to your customers, but no matter what, we can't force the employees and manufactures to go faster than full capacity. I apologize that you did not understand the terms before ordering, please accept my deepest apologies.

Their phone # is 1.860.896.1746. They told me not to give out their number so they wouldn't be getting a ton of calls...but in this case...I think it's warranted. Their number is right on their site... http:\\www.ceriousperformance.com so it's not like it's a secret...say you got it from there.

RookieGTS I know how you feel...this thing has been a huge headache for me from the get-go...I just always assumed that headache would go away sooner. This is my last group buy with having something made for the order. If I ever do one in the future..it will be on parts in inventory that I can see myself.

it took alittle work to get it on crooked bolts--but i worked it nice and slow bent them out and got it to fit

rico what did u do 2 install the scoop? just unscrew the 4 bolds, lift old scoop off and screw in new one?

get a deep 10mm socket-for the bolts--remove the old scoop -connected to the scoop was a aluminum vent remove that and connect it to the new scoop-then install the new scoop--the bottom of the new scoop was soft and didnt take the vent screws in to well-- so i 3m taped the vent to the hood then ran the front bolts of the scoop thur it--its nice and tight--

when my 30 days are up i am gonna try to run a group buy for a real carbon fiber hood center piece with a 3m backing that runs from the scoop to the emblem it will be precut--its gonna cost arouind $175--so think about it--

no i haven't...i'll send another email. It sucks that a refund isn't worth it...cuz then you could get your money back AND stick them with a ton of scoops that haven't been sold..but they only give back like 75%. If I would want a scoop badly and was getting TOO impatient...I would just buy one elsewhere and then sell this one when you get it. You could probably get at least twice as much...especially cuz everyone knows how hard it is to find for a decent price. Looks like this price was a little too decent

this is my second time trying to get a scoop, last time Issac from EC basically took my money wouldn't get back to me when I tried contacting him on the status of my order. A little longer then a year later he just sent me a refund and had never contacted me once.

Just talked to them, they shipped out the first 5, and evidently the list order has been screwed up somehow. I was listed as #7, even though i was #3 orriginaly. Just called them for myself and they told me that a container was shipped to them and should arrive by the end after all the customs crap and stuff. I am going to call them tommorrow to find out the status on the order. I don't expect the crate to get from the NY port to CT in less than a day so I don't see any reason to call today. Hopefully tomorrow I will have some good news.

sorry to go off topic..been following the thread as well since Tim started with it. i went through this crap before as well with my kit..i will never wait or do gb's again because of it as well. but anyway, even with a few blemishes it's still a very good price. even with that guy's scoop who posted up with 3 or 4 blemishes on it...it still wasn't that bad at all for the price. beleive me...cf is tricky. most people get a lot worse with a relatively unknown company. you ought to see some of the hoods i saw from non name brand companies
