What's up with these "lights" or whatever they are? Is it possible to remove or cover them in anyway without risking a hideous look?
Hollas' from Sweden...

get a US spec bumper. don't know if that's illegal

That's an option of course... :) I wonder what shipping would cost?

Anyone else know a way? Which doesn't include replacing the bumper...

Silver masking tape. :)
Actually, if that bumper is fiberglass (I have no clue) you could sand it down, take out the lights, and fill it with some stuff. Then just paint it again. Although, that is a lot of work. Maybe just get a body kit?

Yeah, a bodykit sounds good... I wonder what Toyota was thinking of when they put those ugly things on the rear. And it's just on the european cars too, and to annoy people some more they named the gt-s "T-Sport" and the gt is just a plain Celica. My gosh

I think it's a mandatory safety regulation that you have in europe

Yup, its a legal thing, those are "rear" fog lights (like it says they MUST be put on when its very foggy, cops will pull you over if you dont), since my kam kit is installed i dont have them neither so now im going to saw 2 holes in my trunk and install 2 lexus IS200 "rear" fog lights, hurray....

It sucks though :) Samus, it would be real nice with some pictures after installing those Lexus-lights :D

in germany it's also a must have.
but if u wanna remove them go to your toyota dealer and get a us spec rear bumper. it costs only 160 euros and that's cheaper than "clean" the rear. it also wont work very good because it's not fiberglas.
and if u get it thru your toyota dealer u won't have to pay shipping.

For real? That's great!
But with a US spec bumper I'll be illegal in Europe right?
That shipping stuff is a great idea..

yes, u will be illegal. at least in germany. don't know what the laws are in sweden?
to stay legal u can change the left bulb over the blinker (goes on when u put reverse in) into an red lightning one and connect it to the rear fog light cable. but u have to change the socket.
that's what i'm going to do ;)

That sounds very illegal to me :)
A really nice solution though! But what will happen with the reverselight if you make it into a foglight?

it's not really ilegal. u only change the left one. so the right will stay the reverse light. we only need one of each ;)
it's illegal in that way that the rear fog light has to have a distance from the break light of at least 100mm, and here it's 80mm and the bulb itself is not tuv approved.
but it serves the purpose ;)

Oh, I see :)
Hehe, yes they're different allright! I'll probably call the police next week and ask them about this, the laws here are strict but there's got to be a way to go around them :D
