I love it when my Mom's friend tries to knock my SC'D Camry XLE cause she has a Lexus ES300. Bahahahaha! I tell her it is pretty the same car. I paid much less than her and have much more HP than her. Oh well at least she has the Lexus badge. :)

That and theres something about exporting to the US, like more tax/tarrifs for more vehicles from the same company. But yeah, Toyota's making a killing over here with Lexus. IS300 (Altezza) is only like $16-17k in japan, over here it's what, $28k+?

Yeah, my folks just got a new Lexus RX300 and I was telling them how it's bascially a Toyota and they're like "Yeah, we know.. but we're cool with that because Toyota's have really good reliability.." hehe.. they did their research online and stuff before they bought it.. :thumbup:

Plus if you look at the glass on most Lexus vehicles it says "Manufactured by Toyota" .. so.. there ya go.. :)

I think the reason the difference in the Altezza in Japan is that they have different trim lines for it unlike here. Starting from a more common one up to the luxury version. Also a large difference in engine types (In japan the top model comes with the 3s-gte). There are expensive and inexpensive Altezza's in Japan, but even considering this they are in general cheaper than USDM cars. Consider that in Japan a TRD Celica M spec is as expensive as a GT-S here.

did you guys know that the rx300's in japan have an option called the ACTIVE PACKAGE?? It comes with some lip spoilers and some bigger fogs..kinda like the action package...heheh.
