I think it would fit, you just might get some complaints from the guy who gets to mount 'em.
Kinda small (in diameter/circuference) though.

well as the germans are notorious for doing this...i was told i should get 225/45/17 in the rear and 215/40/17 up front. what do you think?

Your German friends advise makes sense for a RWD BMW or Porsche, but it does not make sense to do that on a FWD Celica. The larger width and sidewall will give a RWD car more contact with the road, which means better traction for acceleration. But since a Celica is FWD, having wider tires with larger side wall on the rear wheels would yeild no benafites.

cool. thanks for the info. I think im going to go with 215/45/17 as my 40's chipped my rims to easily.
