I'm looking at some sway bars, and I see that some ppl have both front and rear, and others just have the rear one. I have also heard from others that having just the rear bar is more beneficial for autocross. So, I'm wondering what is the difference in performance and car handling behavior between rear sway only vs. both front and rear sways?

stiffness bro.
by not having the rear sway, the rear of the car will swing out more on turns....(prob. what u really want for a ff car)
all up to preference really....

On regular roads, though, the car can become a bit twitchy on high speed turns with only the rear sway for the same reason.

hey Blue... how do you like your setup on your sways? being 2 different brands. Is the ST rsb stiffer than the hotchkis rsb for both street & comp? or just preference.

I love it. :) The ST bar is the same stiffness as Hotchkis' Comp rear, so it and the front Hotchkis bar work perfectly together.

To elaborate on what Blue Bomber said, another reason reason why just a larger rear sway bar is more preferential for autocross is for inner tire lift. A larger front sway bar will load the outer tire during cornering and subsequently tend to lift the inside tire in turns reducing the grip available to accelerate a front wheel drive car during corner exit.

So whats the verdict on street driving if you are going to get sway bars to get front and rear? Or should I just get strut bars.... Any input will help!
