Not sure if this should go in this forum, but I'd imagine everyone involved with the c2 tranny is turbo'd anyway. My question is, what exactly does the c2 tranny consist of? Is it just a gearset like C-One's, or different? Also, why isn't it listed on their site? Is it not ready yet? I'm looking to go turbo this summer, then build up the engine and whatnot throughout the year, so hopefully by next summer I'll be looking at upgrading the final part, the transmission, since it seems to be the last weak point of our cars. Does anyone even have it yet???

There are a few people who have it. It is a gearset and a LSD. I think they are made on a special order basis....that means you order it and then they make it. Smaay has it along with Gas and Soceur. I think that is all but I'm not sure.

Does any one know how much for the c2 tranny for the 01' GTS?

its discontinued, BUT if you send them your tranny, they may consider making one for special order and they install it to your tranny. Thats what I know, I could be wrong

It is close to $4000. It isn't available anymore for right now because C2 is having problems with the manufacturer. Hopefully they will get it squared away soon so we can get it and hopefully they can figure out putting it in a 5 speed! Like mtskibum16 said, Gas, soceur and Smaay have it. Don't recall if Bing has it or the others have it but a few of them do! It is upgraded metal gears that can handle more tourque and it has the LSD to help the spinning of the tires. You can still blow your tranny at a high level psi if you rev past where the rev limiter was (if you take it off).

Just wondering where you got this info from. My car revs to 9500, and the car sees 9000 regularly, and I havent run into any tranny issues. Just FYI.

The tranny consist:
-Helical LSD
-Full 6 speed gearset
-both shafts
-Stronger gear selector forks
It does not consist bearings and not a DIY kit. It does need an expert to install it.
We currently have 1 more set that is reserved for Smaay or any of us if we have trouble.
There are only 3 trannies around me, soceur and the competition ;) Smaay.
We are able to produce them again, but I am really not sure if we will. It is really a lot of work untill its done and 1 set is not cost effective at all. More sets are expensive to keep money in it. Thats simply the reason. So when we made 4 sets on the begining that was to be able to make it on that price.
It's a 6 speed gear set made of Chromoly molebdium steel, just like Crower's connecting rod. One of the strongest, if not the strongest, type of steel available.
Like TRDOTC said, we're having availability problems so we're not lining it up in our product group.
The gear set is very sophisticated, that it's almost impossible to assemble. Smaay shipped his tranny housing so we could install it.
BTW, I don't have one. I'm currently satisfied with the power i'm putting out. I just hope these 'euro' trannies can hold up the power.

ok, thanks for the info guys....if i stay with the stock tranny and don't get an LSD, how much do you think I can hold? I was planning on putting down 280-300 whp and around 230-240 tq. Do you think my tranny will hold? If not, what do you guys recommend?? I know an LSD usually puts more stress on the tranny, so i think i'll steer clear of one of those.....

Do you need a 6-speed tranny housing or a 5-speed can do the job?
Thanks

the 5 speed housing will work, but you need a 6 speed selector shaft, the cap on teh end of the selector shaft and the housing that covers 5th and 6th...better off finding a junk 6 speed

This has been gone over numerous times... depends on your tranny, depends how you drive it, but your on the fringe of **** hitting the fan at those goals.

yeah thats what i figured, i've read over everything i can and the consensus seems to be ~300whp and ~250tq, for the tranny blowing to little bits of metal.....perhaps I'll just stop reaching for such high numbers and realize for my daily driving/occasional track runs I'll be happy at around 250-260whp and 215-230tq
