I have tanabe Pro SS on currently, a week ago i slammed it. Then recently on the passenger side i hear a thump noise, when i hit the big bumps only. i am guessing it could be the endlink, but would like to get other suggestions.

Do you have a front strut bar. that may be it, that creates the noise on my car.

Yeah i thought the same but some reason all the others are fine except the front passenger. I thought it could be the endlinks cause it notorious for breaking

Remove one endlink up front and see if the noise goes away.

It's the center bolt on top ofthe strut. I did the same thing. You have to hold the main shaft that goes into the strut and tighten the nut at the same time to keep it from clunking. If you didn't do that, it's not correctly torqued.

How did you tighten it? Did you hold the shaft or did you just stick a torque wrench on there and go at it?

I just stuck torque wrench right at it and it worked.

^^^Hmmm...you better be careful doing that because even though it may have worked this time you can actually destroy a strut by doing this. The reason I say that is because normally, well most cars have some way of holding the shaft from spinning, built into them, but for whatever reason all the struts I have seen for our car lack this. Anyways the reason you do not want to do this is because if you just put the torque wrench on there and start turning even though it may click you could be in fact turning the shaft. Trning the shaft = not good and you can really fubar some of the internal workings by doing that. I have seen people ruin perfectly good, brand new shocks this way, so don't make the same mistake they did. It sounds stupid but it is true as there are a lot and I mean a lot of internal parts in most struts. Next time, find some way to hold the shaft from spinning. It may have worked this time and with the car on the ground it shouldn't or might not spin but it is better to be safe than sorry.

when i started to tighten it i felt no movement in the shaft, so i thought it was not necessary to hold the shaft any longer and just tighten it. And i thought there would be no harm if the shaft twist but i guessed wrong. Thanks Dopecelicagt for the warning i wont be making the same mistake. And on top of that cant afford to buy another tanabe Pro ss coilover
