can someone explain or post a link explaining why an aftermarket exhaust gives more hp. What happens to make this occur. I have a TRM, and from the butt dyno it feels like a pretty good gain.

Primarily thru less backpressure and, thus, better flow. I don't really know how much more bhp is possible with a simple cat back system. Only a few I suspect. The difference in sound certainly gives one the impression of more power. One would have to change the exhaust manifolds [and then monkey with the ECU for full effect] to make any noticeable gains in power. While you're at that you may as well add the CAI and "tune" the A:F ratio on a dyno.
