I'm trying to install the stoptech brake lines, but I can't get the stock lines off...
I have no problems getting the fitting off of the caliper, but I cannot figure out how to get the other fitting apart. If it's the little nut that's there, I've rounded 2 of them off because they just don't want to come loose. Is there something more to it than that?

what do you mean? I'm not sure what you mean. Sorry i have a headache and i can't think clearly
I think you are talking about the lines connected to the car, did you take the lines off the mount? you need the lines to be mounted in a stable position and then you can use an open ended wrench to twist off the nut. sounds dumb but make sure you're turning the right way. worked for me. Good luck , sorry I couldn't help you more. try posting a pic

I will be doing this install later this week my same lines just came in today!!! Use a nice open ended wrench or you will strip them like you said. If you already stripped them then all you can use is like a vise grips then. Well good luck and remember to bleed the system really good when you get the new ones on!

you're on the right track, Kim. I left the lines on the mount, but the nuts just don't want to twist either way.

get a flare wrench!
thats correct! you will need a 10mm flare wrench, just go to pepboys and get one for 3 bucks or so. and BE CAREFULL you do not bend, twist, crack the hard line coming out of the car or you are screwed!

get a flare wrench!
Exactly what you need. I got mine from Sears, if you dont have one I would not recommend trying to remove the lines. If you stripped 2 of them already just be carefull when you try to remove them. The flare wrench should work though.

Does brake fluid leak out of the line once the hose is disconnected?

yep. you'll need a bucket or oil pan to catch it.

you can use a normal box wrench on the bleeder.

yes fluid will start coming out stoptech provides little rubber plugs to plug the line when you replace them.

hey so wat if i wanted to change my brake fluid altogether, do i just let the fluid drain out all the way until there is no more then refill and bleed out the air?

^^ I don't think so. that way takes longer and may create more air pockets
the way i did it was just started bleeding the old stock fluid (clear/yellow) from the rear in the Z format. when the brake fluid resevoir got low ( didn't let it get empty) I just poured in the new fluid (super blue). Kept bleeding till i saw blue fluid.
