What price have you found? Ebay has them for 280 shipped but I could have sworn they were 250 shipped a few days ago.

what setup do you plan on running with these shocks/struts?
i had these on my corolla w/ a 2-2.5 drop and they sucked they are only a little stiffer than the stock struts. you should go w/ the kyb agx ajustables

i really think it'd be worth it to step up to the blues. a spring + shock package is ~$400 and worth every penny

I plan on running these struts with s-techs. I did some research and these seem to be on par with the blues (am I wrong here?), plus they have a lifetime warrenty. Seems pretty hard to beat.
Does anyone have the GR2s with s-techs? Like I said, I did some reseach on my own as well as talked to blue bomber and I feel confident this is what Im looking for. Nice looking conservative drop with increase in preformance without making the ride super harsh for daily driving.

i had kyb gr-2's and i they were junk, the shocks died & blew out so much oil. i only had them for about 3 months on a 1-1.5 inch drop.. they're junk even though they have lifetime warranty its not worth the hassle to switch them out every so often..

This is the first time Ive heard anything bad about them... perhaps you just got a lemon set?
Anyone else have experience with these?

For reference, these are the same struts TRD uses for the Celica.

i don't know if its lemon because you do get 4 different boxes individually package.
if you read the instuctions with the shocks i believe it's for stock height & not ment for dropped cars. i know the price is good & all but the quality wasn't good for me. i know the gr2's come stock on some factory cars. but then i again it can really depend on the rate of your springs.

Yes sir, and if they work well with the 1.1-1.3 drop of TRD springs, I don't see it being a problem going to the 1.4 of the s-techs.

They can easily be used with stock springs, but they are rated for down to a 1.5 inch drop... what springs did you have paired with them?

The KYB GR2s are stock replacement shocks. They are not meant for lowering applications, but people do so anyways. Since TRD uses them with the 1" drop, then that probably the maximum they will handle. I think it be pushing them with the Tein 1.4 springs, it will probably last the same as if you bought brand new toyota oem shocks.

i would buy the AGX's from this guy on eBay
http://stores.ebay.com/Kuruma-Motoring
i bought my s-techs from that place and they were really helpful to me when i ran into a problem and shipping was there on time, with a tracking number. i have been meaning to buy the AGX's for a while now but ive been a little short on cash, and now that i blew the motor im not too concerned about it haha!
for whatever its worth i would save a lil extra money and buy the adjuastable AGX's... ive never heard anything bad about them and everybody swears buy the s-tech/AGX setup. its still your call though...;)

TRD's springs drop 1.1"-1.5" (not very consistent). They sell the rebadged GR-2s as performance struts, not OEM replacements.

i think it's quite funny how trd sells gr-2s as performance struts. i can honestly say they absolutley suck...i felt more of a diffrence with spings and sway bars. a co-worker's gsr with AGXs felt more solid than my car...

I know everyone is trying to help out here, but there seems to be some inconsistancy in the statements. Has anyone has these with s-techs? or at all on a celica?
The AGX are more than I wanted to spend, and I don't see myself adjusting them, plus, from my knowledge, the rears are only adjustable if you removed the strut or cut a hole in the platics in the rear, neither which Im going to do.
For an everyday driver, Id like about a 50/50 split of performance and comfort... does anyone have think this setup won't work for that?
I don't auto-cross or street race... I just want something that can handle some spirited driving and stand up to the 1.4 drop of the s-techs. If not the GR-2s, are there any other non-adjustable struts out there that will work for me?
Thanks for all the input guys/girls.

You only really need to adjust the AGXs to find an optimal performance/comfort setting, then you don't have to touch them again. You can leave the trunk plastics out until you find the right settings so you don't have to cut holes in the plastics. On 2/3 with S-Techs, they're very comfortable, and keep the car pretty level in turns.

As I told you when I talked to you earlier, Im a bit of a suspention noob....
Do you need to remove the rear plastics to install the struts? or do you just mean to do this so I can adjust them?
EDIT: Blue Bomber, what struts do you have with the s-techs? Hows it work out for you?

it is stiffer than stock but not by much , so the ride is not uncomfortable the cornering abilities has greatly improved less body roll and over all i love it, and no pics i know there are somethat been posted here before.

Well, I guess Im gonna try it out.... if the s-techs ride well on stock struts, the GR-2s should be a step up...
Blue Bomber, Ill be in touch probably in the next couple of weeks.
