well... i finally got around to puttin on my 12" Powerslot rotors after it has been setting around my house for a minute..... only thing is is that i wish i would have installed it earlier...... this baby stops on a dime.... but i had to break it in good like the directions say.... ..... i was going to go with a whole bbk, but i went the cheaper route and just got the rotors..... later ill do up everything, but im very pleased with this for now and they still look sexy... i also got some TRD pads to go with it and now this baby stops..... ill be getting the stoptech lines next month and some high speed fluid..... as for the wheels... im runnin 18's so the clearance is great... even if you have 17s, you should be good... but it will be a close fit like my friends 00 si.... anyway.. let me know what you think...enjoy the pics

http://www.newcelica.org/photopost/data/500/11592drvr_done-med.jpg <--- before i put the wheel on..... also. they only took 45 min to install
http://www.newcelica.org/photopost/data/500/11592test_fit-med.jpg <---- test fittn pieces before we put on the locktite

http://www.newcelica.org/photopost/data/500/11592drivr_now-med.jpg <--- after brake in......
they will make a scrubbin noise before the brake in, but that is because of the newness... after you finish they will be good to go... no noise at all.... :nono:

Is it possible to just get calipers from them instead of rotors, or are the calipers made for the larger surface area of the bigger rotors? I know on my slotted/drilled rotors, they make a chattering noise when I apply the brakes hard because of the slots and holes, so yours might also make noise after they're broken in.

ummm. i don't know blue...... they were making a rubbing noise right when i started driving after the install... but ive still tryed to listen and i don't here anything.... i don't know about getting the calipers alone from them, i don't think i have seen that available...

So i guess that they won't fit under 15" rims, huh?

Looks good Coop.

I'll buy the beer if you help me put all this crap on that I just bought. Never messed with the suspension before.

you can get the front slotted for like $169, rears are harder to find and more like 210$

^^^ yeah, just the rotors... but not 12in ones like this..... you have to get the whole kit .... i paid right at 5 for everything with shippin.. but i put them on myself to save on installation.. it was cake,, and only took 45 mins...... also, i got them at www.racespecialists.com..... but i also found them at the mwr site i think for less and offering free shipping....... that usually happens to me after i buy something..... :bang:

why does it look like the actual stoping area is bigger on the stock rotors,

that is what i was thinking too when i put them on.. i don't know though.. but i can tell a big difference from the stocks compared to these.....

the way it works is, by extending the contact by 2" (10" -->12") its increasing the rotational diameter so it takes less friction to stop the wheel from spinning.

think of it this way. try unbolting a tight bolt with a ratchet but hold the neck of the ratchet to unbolt it. then try it again by holding it by the handle. you should notice that you have more toque when you pull from the furthest point possible.

These pwoerslot rotors are the same thing as the AEM rotors.

why does it look like the actual stoping area is bigger on the stock rotors, The larger surface area helps dissipate heat faster. Good for continual high speed braking like on the track, though it could potentially extend 60-0 distances.

actually, Powerslot took over Aem's rotors... so yes they are the same....
