ok, just taking barry's suggestion of starting a new thread (the other one was taking too long to load on our good ol' 56k's). anyhow, here's what we got so far:
next meet: december 7 @ ? (somewhere downtown, we're looking for a location that we can get some good pics at that will show the whole skyline in the background - thinking of turner field area for pics, then maybe hooters for its "scenery")
club name: phase 7 (unless anyone really objects to it, that's what we've all agreed on.)
can't think of anything else right now.

the parking deck at Georgia Tech has a pretty good view of the BellSouth building and Bank of America tower behind it (Midtown), along with some other buildings. Turner has a good view of downtown Atlanta though. One thing: being at Turner field when its dark/late is not always fun. For instance, at SCCA events people always find bullets on the ground.. :)

Everything sounds good to me. Dan has a good point. Maybe we should try to stay in a better part of town. I'll try to go down towards Atlanta next weekend and see if I can spot any good places. North of Atlanta towards Gwinnet would be kind of far for everyone else wouldn't it? Even a mall parking lot could work I suppose. Hooters afterwards for sure. I am cool with the Phase Seven name for the club too.

yea, not sure if i wanna get shot while taking pics of the cars. although maybe it's not that bad during the day, but im not sure if we wanna try. hopefully you'll find somewhere good duncan, and we can go there instead. north of atl. would be a little far for me, but i could still make it up there, i dont mind driving.

hey man, welcome to the board and the fun of owning a celica. what part of town are you from? also, where exactly is north point mall? i've heard of it, but being from hampton, i don't get up to the northside all that much(im thinking its up that way). we were trying to find somewhere in downtown to meet next so we could get some pics of all the cars in front of the city, so that's why we were thinking of those places in downtown right now. but maybe we can meet up there sometime. see ya...

Welcome to the board. I don't know where Northpoint mall is either.

North Point is in Alpharetta Ga. Alpharetta is in Roswell. Um..... Alpharetta is 20 min North Of downtown. North Point Mall is on North Point Parkway. Its real easy to find the Mall is pobelly 1 mile away from 400.

Well are you all a nice bunch of guys? :) How old are u all? I'm 16 and the Celica is m first car and i love it to death...:D I hope that I can tae my dad to oneof thes meets so he can see how nice import owners are and how "improving" your car is a good thing. My dad drives a Porshe 911 and my mom drives a BMW 528 so they don't really need to make therecas better cause they are pretty much flawless stock. But me on the other hand has big plans for my Celica GT.

What do you all have done to your cars? As of now i have a S2000 antenna, and Celica Fillin-decals. As soon as i hae money i will be getting 17in Konig Tanrums, TRD Exhaust, and then by the end of the summer i should be buyin a VeilSide front, Back, and wing. Hopefully i will have thekit by September in time for Nopi Nats.

well talk to you all later. Please give a short list of what you all have done to your cars.

No we are not nice guys. Most of us are out of jail on parole. We hijack trucks on the weekends. When we hijack them we do it Very Fast and Very Furiously. We like to live our lives quartermiles at a time and for those 14 to 15 seconds we're free. j/k

I'm 19 and I think you're the youngest here.
mods not in my sig: painted calipers, painted engine plastics, celica fill-in, and the dreaded s2000antenna.
Coming next week: 17" Racing Hart M5's.

cool...somebody took my spot of the youngest member now..haha. i'm 18 though. check my sig below for all the mods i have. like barry said, we are a pretty rough group of guys. in fact, to be admitted in the club, you'll have take part in our next hi-jacking as the person that jumps into the big rig truck and beats the driver up. haha..j/k. sounds like you've got some good plans though for your car. and seems like your parents have some nice rides too. tell your dad i'll race him when i get my turbo (unless his 911 is also a turbo). :) also, northpoint mall seems like it's right near where i'll be driving a few times a week starting in jan. (the art institue of atl, it's exit 5 off of 400). anyway, look foward to meeting you and seeing your car, make sure you check out the dec. 7 meet if you get a chance. see ya...

Hey Cody.
The Phase Seven name sounds cool. I was looking at your sig. What if you combined the two words to PhaSeven? It still pronounces the same.

11-21-2001, 12:51 PM
Your lucky J5! My first car was an 89 Dodge Caravan and it wasn't even really mine. I didn't have my own car until I was 17 and it was just a six cylinder 68 Mustang. I can imagine the rednecks where I live trying to pronounce phaseven. "whats faseven?" It looks cool for the logo but Phase seven in two words would be better I think. Just my opinion though.:) I haven't done any looking around yet for other possible meet spots but I eill for sure this weekend.

11-21-2001, 12:56 PM
hey Jamie...
glad you think the name sounds cool, it was actuall barry's idea though so we have to thank him for his creativity. the PhaSeven idea is kinda neat, but i think i still like the regular way a little more, its easier to tell what it says that way:). u gonna make it out to the next meet though? i still wanna say hi and check out the car and all that.
and also, john, i'm still not sure if we've decided on a location for the next meet, we wanna meet somewhere like turner field (or somewhere in that area) and then are planning on going to hooters. and i dont think i wanna race your dad yet, but once i save up $6000 and get my turbo and have my car putting down 288 hp, then we can let him say celica's have nothing:) (haha...but that will take me about 10 years so he's got me for a while)
see ya...

Have a good Thanksgiving everyone! I'll be back in a couple days. My parents got a rental car for the trip. It is a freakin Caddy. This thing is sweet! It is a little big for my taste, but the thing has the onstar and all the other trick caddy stuff. I didn't realize they had a big 32 valve V8 in them either. Talk to you all in a few days.

have a good trip duncan, sounds like the caddy will be fun. also, everyone check out http://members.tripod.com/~PhaseSeven
i got a little stuff put together on it (copied mostly from the other kinda joke car club i started), but i plan on doing a good bit more to it soon. once we get some good pics at the next meet, i'll put them up there along w/ pics of each person's car by itself and make a little page for each person. if anyone has any comments or suggestions, feel free to let me know. also, i went ahead and put down everyone's name that has expressed interest in the club in the "members" part, but if anyone else wants up there, let me know and i'll get it.

Hey everyone Happy Thanksgiving. J5 You live pretty close to me I think. I am down at northpoint all the time you may have seen my car it is a 2000 silver GT with yellow stripes their are only 2 like it in the area. By the way im thinking when we do figure out were to meet. if it is downtown maybe some of us could meet at Northpoint. I know when we did the MTN run everyone met at Fudruckers @ northpoint. Hey Cody I checked out the site it looks really good. for the members section we should take pics of everyone by thier cars and put their names with their pics. Just an idea it looks great.

Just bought my Celi, a 2000 GTS black. Anyone that can give me some ideas on a few cheap mods to get it started? I've already seen how much better the s2k antenna looks, and I want to replace that orange front light...
Anyone know where I could pick up the gas door for cheap? Mine has a small dent.

skatamatic
11-25-2001, 02:05 PM
hey DevlynSyde...
welcome to the board...as for as cheap mods go, like you said the s2000 antenna is a good idea, also you can try removing the butterfly valve. i never did it on mine since i got an intake right away, but i've heard it's pretty easy. check the "installs" section of this site for more info on that. another thing that you can try on your own is painting the engine and/or interior plastics and brake calipers. i'm not sure where to get a new fuel door, but you could try e-mailing david draper at west covina toyota (www.wctoyotasport.com), or go to your local dealer. also, i have a friend that runs a body shop that might be able to fix it for cheaper than a new one, but i'm not completely sure. good luck with everything, and try to make it by the next meet if you have a chance.

There is no way I could make it on Friday the 7th until 7 or later. What if we made it the 15th? The 1st could work too maybe but thats kind of short notice. I could do which ever one is best for everyone else. I didn't get to do much exploring this weekend for a meet spot. Other than some of the malls or Malibu Grand Prix I didn't see anything that looked especially good.

What would you guys think about meeting at that autocross that Dan(Liquid) posted about? That could be cool to meet there, hang out for a while, take pictures, then all go somewhere else. Just an idea. I think it would be cool. Maybe we could even meet still around the fifteenth(whoever can) to check out Cody's new stuff, and Barry's Wheels. Maybe more of an informal meet. What do you all think?

skatamatic
11-27-2001, 03:55 PM
im down with the first, and might stop by the 2nd if a few of yall wanna show up to the auto-x. and if anyone wants to get together on the 15th again, i'd be cool with that. as far as locations go, i still think it would be cool to get some good pics w/the skyline in the background, so yall wanna meet somewhere downtown while its still light (we could go back to the varsity idea just cuz it's easy to find), then drive to somewhere like turner field, and then maybe to hooters like we had thought about. just an idea though, if anyone else has suggestions, feel free to post them too.

I plan to go to the Autocross on Sunday.

DevlynSyde
11-28-2001, 03:05 PM
If you'd be going towards downtown, how would you go Bling? Might be easiest to plug in the addy's to yahoo maps, I'm sure you could get an addy from the Varsity's website.

So does anyone plan on meeting on the 1st, or do most people want to meet somewhere and go as a group to the autocross on the 2nd?

cbr600drm
11-28-2001, 03:13 PM
It is off of the North Avenue exit of I85. I couldn't tell you the fastest way to get there, but if you are taking 285 you will then take 85 south into downtown and right after you pass Georgia Tech is the exit. You can see the Varsity from the highway too. It is left off of the ramp. There is probably a faster way, but I don't know exactly where you are coming from.

What time are we meeting? 3 or 4 would be good for me. I'm going to try to make it to the Autocross also.
