People with 2003 celicas+...

On our rear where it says "celica" there is a chrome looking metal on the top. Mine has started to peel ( i have no clue if its sum sort of clear coat peeling) and now it looks kinda bad... the part that has peeled is really shiny whereas the part that hasn't peeled is more dull. have any of u experienced this? what did u do? is it normal? thx

mine has a few spots where it started forming little circles not sure if its normal

I have the same problem with my 03', it's the one flaw on the car and i haven't decieded what to do with it yet.

mine is doing it to the clear coat makes it look like brushed aluminum and where its peeling off ( in the middle where you grab it) it is chrome. dont know what to do either.

I have an '03, I took it to the dealer last month and they fixed it under warranty.

Same problem, it's the clearcoat peeling off.

yea its covered under warranty, or you can do what i did, i painted the chrome part black and i think it looks 10x better

Yeah my 04 did that too, and I took it to the dealership at my scheduled oil change. They replaced it under warranty. The new piece is not that shinny chrome like the original, but rather a brushed aluminum. I think Toyota changed it because they started running into this problem alot. But it still looks good.
