I was procrastinating and came up with some new leave behind cards. You know, for when you see a hooked up celica and want to tell them about us. If you want to reproduce it yourself, it's a business card sized photo and I can email it to you. I printed it out on business card paper with my ink jet printer.

Liz you freaking rule. Can you print them out on card stock, do you think? I just need to find a decent ink jet around me. You have the file for that so I can take it to the printers?

I like it. :)

Maybe we should point out which forum is ours specifically? Or would that be too much URL???

I have a photo quality printer as well, so if you want I can print these out too.

Very nice, your partial unemployment has its benefits. For the rest of us anyways. ;)

Suggestion: maybe change to "Check us out in the DC Metro Forum on newcelica.org" Getting rid of the www and the period on the end while fitting in the DCM forum part. I think "The" would be better than "A" like JD32 said.

Waiting for my mail to arrive,
Brad :)

Thanks for the input guys. I'll make some changes this weekend. I already printed out a bunch for myself, i'll keep them cause I hate wasting paper.

How does the card come out for you guys with the nice inkjets? I printed it out at work on our B&W laserjet and it came out way too dark. I can barely make out the outline of the car, but I think it is because I know what to look for. I don't think that my color inkjet at home will do any better with the contrast between the silver of the car and the gray of the parking lot. Maybe a night pic would be better with a red or white car?

liz- In the end it's what ever you decide to do, we're just benefitting from your good wil.

Yup yup....

Hey liz if you can tell me what size the image needs to be, I can try out a couple of different ideas. Oh what kinda paper do you use for business cards anyway?

if you guys require a better quality, then pitch in some money and get Kinkos to print them.... I don't think it would be that expensive. :D

j/k, I'm sure that Office Depot or Staples will sell you on some special card stock paper. I would just use something with a little more 'weight' to it that the image won't bleed on. Resume paper maybe? I've got a whole stack of that laying around. Maybe I'll try it.

OK guys, the reason it isnt working for you, is that the image on-line is a crappy one. There is this whole thing called DPI, and this image is lacking a lot of it. This is screen resolution (72). At home, my image is 350 dpi which makes the file about 3 megs. I printed it out on paper from staples that has little business cards that are perferated. The paper stock is glossy as well.

If every one wants to chip and and get paper and some ink cartraiges, I'll gladly run off a bunch. Say $1 for each sheet of images (8 cards). I can also see what kinkos would charge to do a bunch of them.

Send me the large file please so I can experiment. I don't remember the dpi of my printer at home, but I think that it can handle 350.

bagel, you are the hoochiest!

I noticed you stuck "Baltimore" on there. And first before DC. Hmmm. Mighty convienent you being from Baltimore and all. :D j/k, they look nice.

BTW -- If I made the cards they would say "Winchester and Washington DC area" :D :D :D

Prinya, these cards will look like crap in an 8x10 size and need to be kept small. If you blow it up, it will just become all pixelated.

LOL, I put baltimore first since I didnt expect to be printing off tons for everyone! Actually, when I first joined I thought DCM stood for DC/Maryland, not Metro!

If anyone has any more suggestions as to what this should say, please give me some input.

Now that I think it over more maybe just, "Visit the DC Metro Forum at www.newcelica.org"

Hey liz, heres a bothersome question. You wanna make personalized ones? I will happily subsidize the printing of them.

if people want to float me money for ink and paper, I will gladly make personalized ones. I can work my name and email into it, to show you where it would go, and then swap yours in for your cards.

Here is a cost breakdown: 1 set of ink cartraiges (black and color) $55, pack of paper (25 sheets of 8 cards) $20.

BTW, one set of cartraiges will last me about 2 packs of paper. I'll still check with kinko's on printing non-personalized ones and get the price. It may be a heck of a lot cheaper.

Edit: New Card Design.
