Pre-meet for NY and NJ:
For those interested in being in the multi caravan to seaside heights, we will be meeting at the Vince Lombardi rest area on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Where: Located between Interchanges 18E/18W and the George Washington Bridge
Departure: 11:00am

For those coming from NYC area, we will be meeting before heading out to the New Jersey Turnpike.

Where: 7-11 @ Francis Lewis Blvd. off the Long Island Expressway
Time: 9:30am

Make the time early too so we can beat some traffic. Last time we waited a hell of a long time at the rest stop for half of the crew to show up.

Its been my experience when I used to ride Motorcycles with large groups, that if you start to leave on time and people get left behind, they start to show up on time.

i think we should move the northern NJ meeting place to the a place off the turnpike. there are less tolls on that portion of the road and we can meet up with the parkway halfway down.

i think the time will permit in allowing me to attend.

i've slowly become a watcher of these forums which is why u wont get much input from me lol.

besides, its reassuring to see someone finally taking the reins and planning these meets to an extent.

now as far as meeting spots...that is crucial that you get that settled from the get go. The normal GSP meeting spot no good? Also..about the date..is this tentative or are you guys sure about it.

Lastly....anyone checked to make sure that particular weekend has no special functions going on.

Oh yes, who can forget. Upon completion of the meet details...be sure to drop a line to our Matrix cousins and newly spawned Scion tc/xA/xB demon seeds.

hmm.. did I say xA/xB. hmm...might wanna rethink that one.

Thus far we've had RSX, Matrix come along without a hitch and its being thoroughly enjoyable. Those might be the no brainers as far as invitees but the Scion crew...well..I'm sure that can be decided soon enough. Choose carefully as we do not want a bunch of haters on our hands who will leave a residue of keyed Celis on their way out.

It seems this is a date everyone is happy with. So i think it can be set in stone. Now as Manny said where do you want set the meeting points. last year the Northern crowd met at a GSP exit. Now that led us to stop and go traffic most of the way down. this year i suggest somewhere off the turnpike, as there are less tolls which is what leads to the blockups. input on this matter? Also we can all meet up outside the park and drive in as there are alot of parking areas and this is where most people got lost last year.

I'll be there for sure, I just don't know which car I'll bring.

Were still tunning the Vette and running the 1/4 on a crappy tune.
We were @ Atco yesterday on 26" slicks and skinnys up front and were spinning in every gear even @ low boost of 12.8 psi.
My best was 10.962 @ 132.52, I should be trapping high 140's in the 9's.
Were going to go back when the weather heats up and run 28" slicks on a sticky track @ 15 psi. I'll probably break something in the drivetrain @ that level and hopefully have the car fixed by the Seaside meet.

Naturally we need a LI Spot(normally the 7eleven on francis lewis i think), a North Jersey spot(I was thinking the Vince Lombardi Rest area on the NJTurnpike) and a Central Jersey Spot(Not to sure about this one)For those of you coming from the west tell us your preference of what is easier for you. Once we decide on all this Chris(Bluebomber) said he would put together a graphic(much like the one he did for this weekends meet). That is all.

Yeah man Im paying attention!

Sounds like a good time. Now calculate what time we have to depart from the last meet point to get to IBSP by the suggested time. Give time for traffice and stuff.

This has not been stickied for obvious reasons. The plans for this meet appear to still be in the works. Is this what you want to link other car forums to as the official meet thread? Its 3pages of people posting bodykits, mating rituals, hang out tips and other inessentials with 25% of the content actually referring to the meet.

As is the history of meet threads..we usually have threads like these where we all get to discuss and input our ideas and even post Meet OT (i.e the past threads of most meets in the last 3 years) followed by an official thread which is the thread that ends up being 5-6pages anyway but at least it contains 80% meet content and is easily navigated by a complete stranger who has been tossed an invite.

I see you guys have tossed a few of these links around but sorry to say but it looks quite disorganized to anyone venturing in as by page 3 of any OFFICIAL MEET THREAD, the meeting spot should not be the topic of discussion but instead who;s going to be getting dunked headfirst in Seaside waters. meh.

Joe appears to be quite busy and Vinny if you would seriously like to take the reins and plan this thing right, perhaps signing on to the Matrix forums might be the best bet instead of inviting 1 owner who visits these boards..becuase when it all comes down to it, we all have lives and we cant rest it on that 1 matrix owner to get a decent turnout.

I've had a bit more time on my hands. If you guys are decided on the date, meeting spot and such..we should create a clean thread and start posting away from there - we're just a lil over 4 weeks away (minus July 4th weekend is a complete daze and things should be settled and stamped as that weekend is too hectic for people to be signing on to confirm that things will go down as planned).

Then again, if you guys prefer...I can just go ahead and sticky this thread.

My question to everyone first is this....please do not reply with what you will be getting done on that day but simply address the question:

Is July 16th fine for you to go to Seaside?
Would you prefer any other dates (i.e. - July 9th)?

About the meeting spot...where is it exactly? Or should we stick with the age old Northern NJ meeting spot of the GSP exit.

EDIT: For NY'ers...I do believe the 7/11 is the meeting place and we move on from there.

To discuss that meeting spot business which has never been disputed as it seems to work and has worked for past few years:

Please take into consideration that the NJ meeting spot is really for Central and Northern NJ'ers and other people coming from other states. THIS IS NOT WHERE THE MEET SHOULD BE. Its the PRE-MEET so you dont drive alone to Seaside. This is not the meat of what we came out to NJ for. If you're coming from S. Jersey..it really makes no sense to be concerning yourself with the pre-meet. In past Seaside meets, the South NJ'ers have had their own pre-neet and met us at Seaside.
And for those coming from Central Jersey that cant make the pre-meet, many a time have we stopped to pick up people. It's been fun...actuallly I remember us waiting for CelicaLT (I think last year) and he caught up lol... "where are you bro?" - "spec blue w/ yellow calipers" lol.

The purpose of this mini rant lol is just to progress. I really dislike procrastination when it comes to something that we will all be taking a full day out of our time to attend. Lets get this sorted so we can get this going. AFTER we can then start inviting people. But inviting other forums 2weeks before the meet is only setting ourselves up for disappointment.

Lets get this done.

OK. Now that you've suggested that. Where on the Turnpike?. Please respond with the meeting place that can cater to 20+ cars (without any qualms of the law getting in our face for "hanging out") and is a accessible from either the north/south directions on the Turnpike.

If u can do that, we might have another pre-meet spot but its too broad to just say Turnpike.

Just from memory ..it appears that it will have to be between EXIT 15 to 14 of the Turnpike....Lets also not forget Tunnels as people are coming from NY and catching the GWB to the turnpike to some sound area might mean going far beyond the equivalent of the GSP meeting spot of old.
So now the question is, where on the Turnpike? Turnpike is great for driving but IMO I cant think of a place that would offer a great spot for meeting...but I'm not from NJ so I hope those around the area can offer a solutin or maybe there's a place u had in mind Vinny?

What about the Brooklyn-ites? I would assume they would meet up with us after they cross the verazzano, which is exit 13. My best idea for a meeting spot on the tpke, would be at one of those fancy rest stops they have, and hopefully the rest stop is between 12 and 13. What do you guys think?

The 16th would be a maybe for me.. I'm not sure what my plans are for heading to SC are but most likely will be gone by that time. Therefore, I'd prefer the 9th. It sucks b/c I missed last year's seaside meet for the same reason.. but whatever.

The Vince Lombardi is a ****hole but has lots of parking. Theres also that rest stop on the parkway that comes south of the GSP and Pike intersection. I remember meeting the Matrix kids over there.

Manny is right tho.. we need to be more organized if you want to have a good turnout at this meet.

Joe, please create a new thread with the info as copied and pasted from Seaside O4' just making sure to update the Pre-Meet area which is now right off the Turnpike as suggested by Vinny.

The attendance sheet will also be on the first page and updated thereon out so we're not surfing to page 3 to see who is coming. All the essentials belong on page 1 and should be edited as the meet comes closer or things change. Therein lies the great organziation to a great meet.
