Why is (exhaust) backfiring bad? What causes it? How do u fix it? Thanks

normal engine + removal of all cats = fire outta exhast when shifting!!! YAY!!!
now thats what i call back fire!!! hahah

actually, normal celica GTS + removal of stock resonator (the one after the cat but before the exhaust) + aftermarket exhaust = backfiring. i love the sound! its not the loud gunshot backfiring (only sometimes that happens), but more of the quieter popping and gurgling, and when u shift it is good.

that's what I did when the shop installed my N1 exhaust (straight pipe)

hehe nice! dude yesterday I was driving around and i dropped my friend off at hsi house and gunned it while leaving and turning so the wheels spun. he ran to my car and said "dam i saw a flame shoot out" he said it was liek 6-7 inches long.. dam i gotta get htat on video!

way back when i was learning stick i was in 4th at around 40mph and downshifted to second and gassed it at the same time. got a loud POP... then i learned about matching revs....
