good lord, what BBK requires an 18" wheel for the Celica...??? It also depends on the offset...

YOu're not suppose to worry about the tire size, like slowica said its the offset that you have to worry about. What kind of wheels are you getting?

i have the brembo gran turismo bbk, and i'm thinking of going with the two peice rays g-games. the size would be 18x8.5.

This thread is useless if you don't know the offset.

+40mm offset

I know 8,5 inch wide with a 35 and 30 offset works. Not sure about 40. IF it scrubs somewhere, you can correct it by fitting 5mm spacers, which doesn't cost anything and even your mom can install it.

Even if it doesn't scrub, or create any kind of problems - you should get atleast 10mm spacers to make the rims look nicer on your car. 8,5 with a 40 offset will make your wheels sit pretty far inside your fenders.

i had 18x8.5 with +44, looked perfect and flush to the fender.

what springs where you using, i've got tanabe df210 on mine now and the rear almost tucks. i'm confused about the offset numbers though, i thought the smaller the number the further the wheel would sit out and the larger the further it would sit in the wheel well.

That's pretty much impossible, when 8,5x19 with a 30 offset doesn't even sit flush with the fenders..

lol, damn now i'm all confused.

Do you have picture proof of this set up not working? Sheizen has plenty of pictures in his gallery proving his point.

My car, on 8,5x19 with a 30 offset:

So, to repeat myself, 8,5 with a 40 offset doesn't sit flush with your fender when 8,5 with a 30 offset doesn't even sit flush. But, ofcourse, it all depends on everyone's opinion about what is flush and not. I'm not satisfied with a 30 offset, and want to put on 5mm spacers up front and 10mm rear.

will 18's work with 45 height?

narcolepsy12345
06-13-2005, 02:30 PM
i think so, i know a 215/45/18 will, but a 225/45/18 will throw your speedometer off a little.

but 215/45/18 would b same still? or will the speedo be off still?

215 45 is way too big in my opinion. Here is a calutlator that is pretty useful.

Dude if you go with a 5mm spacer in the front, judging from your pic, your car will look goofy as hell because at that point the tire will be past your fender more than likely. I dunno though it is hard to tell from the pics but it looks to me like if you go any farther out in the front then it is going to stick out.

It's nice of you to guess, but seeing as I can walk into my garage at any time and check it out, I feel that this is a subject I know more about than you ;-)

I agree. It looks flush to me as is, no need to push them out more. That's my opinion.
