Squeeking noise from engine bay

Have any of you been getting this squeeking noise from your engine bay every morning or after it rained? It's starting to get real annoying and I feel like the car is about to fall apart from the noise! If any of you have had this problem, what is it? is it the belt tensioner? How do you solve this problem?

yeah its probably your belt tensioner.. take it to the dealer and let them worry about it..

the squeaking noise is probably the serp. belt. The tensioner makes a rattle noise.

yeah, totally the belt tensioner. I had this problem, I took it in, Toyota fixed it. no more cricket noises from my engine. http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/smile.gif

Yup what he said... they're gonna say its the tensioner but they'll replace both

I actually did go to the toyota dealer service dept. and told them what the problem was and all they did was lube up the belt... As I was driving out it made the noise again and I came back in and told them and he said yea.. sounds like we need to replace it, We'll replace it once under warrenty but after that its your baby and we'll call you when we get the belt in... A month later.. still nothing.. I just havn't had time to go in and giv

i got the same fricken problem. what is the full name of the (serp) belt?

what happens if we dont replace this? or if we wait a long time. does it cause more damage to the car?

I've already had the tensioner replaced once and it stopped make that clunking noise, but now the belt is sqeaking. Very irritating and annoying.

serpentine blet = squeeking

replace both and still hear something from engine bay?
CEL is probably on and you probably have a single cylinder or multi cylinder misfire
