Viper 476V

I just bought a used 00 GTS and it came with a Viper 476V security system. The problem I have is that whenever I push the unlock button, only the driver side door unlocks. Is there a way to open both? Also there's an "AUX" button, what is the purpose of this button? I tried looking on the internet but couldn't find too much about the alarm. If anyone knows much more about it, please share.

Since I was recently in the exact same situation (went in just this past saturday to find out what all my system could do), I can tell you a little bit. The Aux can control things that were put in custom by the original installer. This can include popping the trunk open (doesn't work since it's a 3rd door in a celica), opening the sun roof, rolling down the windows, etc. On mine, nothing was programmed for it, but you can get a little more work done if any of those other things appeal.

does it unlock both sides if you press the button twice in a row (that's what mine does)

ive tried that already holding it down and pressin it twice . seems like im not the only one whos unable to unlock their passenger door. my alarm is pretty crappy tryin to upgrade to clifford 3.5 rsx soon but meanwhile i would like to make my passenger side door unlock.

any other ideas ???

The alarm is tied into the factory style lock mechanism. By this I mean, both dorrs lock once the ignition is cut on, but only the driver side unlocks. This can be fixed by adding a relay for the passenger side door. Any qualified shop can do this for ya.

hm.. a relay .. ? like where it goes under your hood ? man whys is it so complicated...?
say if i install the clifford matrix 3.5 rsx alarm ? would this fix it and unlock both doors?

my 791viper malfunctions about every 6 months, trips make this happen, the best thing that i can tell you is to unplug it, unlock it, then plug it back

Still depends on how the Clifford is installed. Could do the same thing, could unlock both doors.It still boils down to a relay. What most likely happened is your GT-S had the factory alarm that was replaced later with the Viper. Instead of wiring the Viper in from scratch, the installer tok the short way and used the factory alarms wiring. I would find a authorized DEI (Viper) dealer and tell them what you want done. It will save you some $$$ over buying the Clifford. Or if you can install car audio, you can do this yourself. Just need the Viper alarms wiring info and e Celica wiring diagram.
