I have noticed a small sqeak in my first to second shift in my 01 celica GT. Has anyone seen this before, should I get it looked at?

TIA

i thought i heard a squeak when i went from 4-5. i was like YES! TIME TO GET THE KUMOSPRORT BUSHINGS!! but it wasnt my bushings making the sound. it was the shift boot that was squeaking. so i just rotated the metal part a little until it stopped squeaking.

I hear a tiny squeak when shifting 1-2. I'm not concerned about it.

I had the same problem. Heres what you do... Get a friend to help you. Pop the hood and get your friend to sit in your car and change from 1 to 2 again and again. Now, if you have a cai it will be real easy to see. Its the shifter linkage. Its a big silver link and when your friend shifts it will move and sqeek. Just use some spray lub and apray it all over it and that will fix it. Hope it helps...

I have the same problem, only quam is that the squeak comes back in a few weeks even if you drench the stuff with wd40. I am going to smother it with bearing grease next.

Yeah. i have a small squeeky sound too when I shift from 1-2. It was really audible when the car was dead, or idling, but if it takes oil or lube to clear that sound, then i'm there dude.

All you need to do is lube it up. Mine had the same problem, lubed up the shifter and shift linkage... doesnt squeek at all anymore.
