hey guys im a 17 year old high school student and i was wondering what all could i do to my car to make it look nice like the pics i saw on this website. i really like alot of the photos. i am trying to lean more towards trd products. i was wondering where a good place to find and order trd parts would be. i have a 00 celica gts automatic....has a tiptronic in it but isnt a true manual tran car.... thank you for your time and i hope to hear from you soon.

hi. two things:

one, welcome to the site  , you came to the right place for celica know-how and info

two, USE THE SEARCH BUTTON AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. this can not be stressed enough. pretty much every question you'll think of has been asked, and you should be able to find it with one quick search. if you can't find what you're looking for then feel free to post away. be warned that you will get flamed for asking questions that are easily answered (i.e. "what are those short antenna's?"). also make sure to look in and post in the appropriate forum. (for example, your question here about visual parts would be best answered in the "appearance" forum.) most would suggest that you spend a few days just searching and reading the forums before you post anything, since you'll learn a lot of stuff (including things you hadn't thought of before) by just browsing around.

good luck!

i just noticed you have a gt-s auto. be warned that people will probably flame you, since the gt auto is actually proven to be faster (believe it or not). even though it'll never be fast, you can still have a good time making it "look fast" :)

the search function isn't workin 2 well right now though.
it brings up posts from the last couple weeks, and from 2003. there's a huge gap, so u may have to post ur questions afterall.

welcome to the boards! theres a lot of things u can do to make it look nice. from small mods like redded out tails, shorter antenna, to bigger mods like a body kit, rims, and suspension.

first, welcome.
second, be convinced that it's slow and learn to like it... or trade it in now.
i chose the route of learning to like it, and is convinced by myself that it's slow. lol.

Never said that he wanted the car to be fast... He said "LOOK NICE" that means he wants show. So in that case s2000 antenna, rims, body kit, cf hood.. little things like oonogoautooo said. And yea search button helps alot.

I'm in high school right now, too, and have a 2000 GT. You probably won't be getting a turbo any time soon, so right now, I'd say rims, tires, and maybe lower it. Also, small stuff like clear corners, tinted lights, and a short antenna. Also, for les than $1000 you can get an awesome sound system. I reccommend getting a four channel amp, and getting new front speakers, with a sub. When you want to upgrade your system, you get some new rear speakers on the amp, and get another amp for your sub.

Don't waste money on rear speakers, just get beastly fronts and fade them, the rears aren't worth it.

And this brings up an interesting point, being in highschool as well, I've finally came to the realization that all my money should not be going into my car. You may not realize it now, or ever, but you might just find a content peace of mind with the car. If anything, spend money on stuff that you can continue to enjoy and take from car to car, like the audio system!!

guys thank you for all your help with this, i really appreciate it. i didnt know that the celica auto gt-s was crap or w/e but, i still like it. it is my first car so im not really going for speed right now because i just got my license about 6 months ago. right now im just out for all looks. id like to supe up the engine if i could just a lil bit to get it a lil faster and excelerate quickly. since the celica is in its last year idk what im gonna do... i may just save it as a stock car and get a different car. the celica may be worth something since the model is going to be discontined. i heard that the scion tc is toyotas new sports car and the "Tc" stands for Toyota Celica. is this true? thank you for your time.

The Tc is nothing like the Celica.

TC = Quiet at speed, smooth ride, very little engine vibration, bulk that is felt while changing direction and somewhat numb steering ( not being able to feel exactly what the wheels are doing in relation to changes in the road and your input ) . It has alot of standard features for the money and would make a good commuter. If you think the Honda Accord Coupe is the car for you then this is a cheap alternative that stacks up well.

Celica = Lots of road/tire/wind noise, engine noise and vibration is plentiful ( I don't mind this at all -- I don't like feeling disconnected from the outside world while driving ). Steering is direct and precise. It is one of the lighter cars out there. Stops great. Turns Great. Looks good. Goes OK. Price increases have made it less of a value as the years have passed but used ones are really cheap. If you don't pretend this it is a supercar and just take it for what it is you can have alot of fun.

yeah... save up for college=] i learnd the hard way. but since you're gonna blow all your money on your car like everyone else here including me, when you do stuff.. go all out. dont go cheap and get cheap stuff that you're going to replace in less than 12 monthes.

I didn't know the Auto GT-S was crap either until after I bought it. I've been driving it for 2 years and tomorrow I'm trading in for a 6spd GT-S finally!

Good luck with it, it's a good car for everyday driving whether it be auto or manual and it's also a great show car if it's an auto. Enjoy it :headbang:

get the CAI, Exhaust. Rims (lightweight if u wanna save some mgh). a not so aggressive lip kit (TRD or WW...ect)...and most importantly, drop that bitch.

blow them out in the turns. on the straight, auto GTS really isnt competitive to any car... except to some auto civics

I have the TSRM exhaust and an Injen SRI. It gives a little extra pep for an auto. I would suggest maybe an aem intake to possibly help your low end power and an exhaust like the Tanabe or TRD. Luckily I'm trading mine for a 6spd gts in a few days so I won't have to worry about the severe slowness of my auto gts.

I think you are totally right. When you get a little older and more experienced with driving you can get a manual or anything of your choice :) My first two cars were automatic and I loved both of them to death. To be honest, I loved driving my auto today when I hit really bad traffic. I'm gonna be a lil sad to see it go tomorrow. Don't let anyone put you down because you own an automatic dude. Yea, they are slow, but if you like it then who cares. Use this first car as your experimental project and so when you go to get your second car in the future you will know what mods are good and what are bad.

gl with the car.
