yes
and nobody could ever know until one was actually made, installed, and ran!

if the supercharger adds as much horsepower and torque as a 50 shot of nitrous (or close, but add a few bolt-ons and you're there), then with no tranny mods (other than an ATF cooler which is necessary) you'd probably be running BARELY into 14s if your tires are worth a damn.
you should run a mid 14 with no trany mods and street tires. you could run better with some slicks and a 4000 stall. i think that if anyone wants real power just spray. it's not worth it to spend 3-4k on a turbo or a SC and still run a 14 or a high 13. you can get a good system installed for about a 1000.

You'll be lucky if you hit a 15.0-14.9.....The auto trans drains to much HP.....You'll get 175Hp at the wheels the most....! I think Auto GT-s put out 145WHP....
I don't know maybe the low engine torque of a supercharger makes you fast off the line....something that you won't get with a turbo....For your aplication is the best option.....

auto gts put 135 to the wheels. my car made 207 whp with a 60 shot. i was running a direct port and i don't know why i made more than 60 whp.

made more than 60whp cuz of the 11.5:1 compression ratio. quite high, so nitrous goes crazy on our cars.
yes nitrous goes crazy on a gts. i just noticed that after going thru more than 30-45 bottles in about a year, the car became slower and slower and that's why i got rid of it. i feel sorry for the guy how going to buy it from the dealer ship that i sold it to.

wow.. so u think it was doing a job on yer engine then huh

going from a 14.6 to a 15.8, was enough to convince me.BTW, i blew my civic motor up. after doing a compression test and knowing that it had 2 f###ed up cylenders, i decided to run it at the track and tow it back home. on my first run i did a 13.84 @ 96 mph and i ran a 15.5 on my second run, that when the motor went boom.

geez man..u arent having any luck lately are ya
actully, it's not that bad, but i wanted to run the civic at the track because i've never ran it before, and it was going to blow up, so i wanted it to go down with pride. :) i still have the RX-7 and i'm happy with it, i have a DP,EX, ECU, intake and wired the turbos non-sequential.

hehe.. get it to the track yet?
no not yet, last time i took it to the track my second turbo didn't kick in and i only ran a 15.8. not bad for a 1.3 L N/A :)

ok i'm hearing different things....does a supercharger effect your car in the long run? and is it safer than NOS? thanks

i auto gt-s ran a 17.0 flat and I dont think it would be in the 14's with a super or turbo.

any type of forced induction will affect your car negatively over the long run..

if you get a 6 psi turbo that spools fast, you'll be in the 14s. i ran a 14.6 at 3200ft of elevation, with only a 60 shot.

get a low boost supercharger and set up a 25 shot to spray from 5000rpm to 6000rpm for the strip or races. then an oil cooler and a tranny cooler (maybe a valve body recalibration, only tranny-saving mods).
it should last for a while, and you'd definitely be into 14s. with a torque converter, quite a way into 14s.
t2000gts, thats too much work plus the motor will go nuts with nitrous and a blower. here is my opinion : don't pay $3.5-$4K on a SC. just buy a nitrous kit and rebuild the motor to handle a bigger shot. the SC and the TC will never come out for the celica. the car is almost 3 years old and by this time a turbo or a SC should have been out. look at the RSX and other cars, they have the FI for them, and they are less than a year old. nitrous is the way to go on the celica.

yeah, i think that'd be the way to go, but the dude was asking about a s/c :D
how big of a shot you think the motor could handle when built up? there are turbo/sc kits nearing end of development by a few different manufacturers right now. i think for over 250whp, a turbo would be a better option. or maybe the only option. that's assuming level ten's entire tranny rebuild works as advertised
nitrous is just TOO powerful. it adds too much torque. to get 250-300whp, you'll probably destroy something with regards to tranny/drivetrain with all that torque.
my dream is still a turbo that boosts to 9000rpm with a small shot of nos off the line. :D
also, the RSX doesn't have a turbo out. none of the new cars that didn't come with turbos have them out. they've been turboed in private by companies, but that's just like XS turboing the celica 1.5-2 years ago.
i know for a fact that the GTS can take a 75 shot. if you have it built, you can do a 2 stage, 50 from 3k rpm to 4 rpm and 125-150 to red line. this will put the car in the low 12s i think.

btw, you think it was your engine or your tranny that was going?
i think it was the engin, but i'm not sure. the guy that i sold my NOS kit to said the my main line had a hole in it from rubbing agaist the fire wall or something. so it could be that only and the engine could have been fine but i'm not sure

I ran my auto gts with a 75 shot. it ran a 14.69.

what were all your mods? a torque converter?
what kind of nitrous kit and how was it setup?
how did you run it? (powerbrake, shift with sportshift off rev limiter?)
zooq ran exactly that time, but with a 60 shot and a 3000rpm torque converter.
i also ran it at 3200 ft above sea level.
what was your 60 ft time? my best was 2.1 with drag radials and my highest mph was 95 i think

Could you do this if it was built with the same compression ratio????
not sure about the CR. but i think you could do it with realy cold plugs and C16 or C32 racing gas. i'd lower the CR to 10 or so just incase.

I had high expectations for my car (Sport shift). I could have used the same amount of money and get a gt, turbocharge the crap out of it.. and be a happy ass...I really wish i did my friggen homework before i bought my car...
