Just wanted to introduce myself. I just bought a 2000 GTS, 6-speed, 35,000 miles on it. TRD springs, TRD exhaust, aftermarket intake, Toyo Proxes TI-S tires (still have "nubbies" on them).

I had a Kia Rio and had never driven stick until 2 days ago so this is an upgrade for me. I have entered a whole new world and am eager to learn.

A couple questions:

1) The tint on my sunroof seems to be peeling. Is this a common problem? Any suggestions?

2) I will need new tires (all-weather or winter) in the fall. Everyone I have asked says Blizzaks for winter tires. Any different suggestions? Would all-weather be a better idea?

3) I am thinking of possibly painting my calipers silver. Has anyone else done this on their own? If so any suggestions? Would it be wiser to find somewhere in Massachusetts that will do this for me?

Ok, enough questions for now.

Thanks and glad to be part of the Celica family.

Just get some brake calper paint and spray 'em yourself. Just make sure you cleam them well beforehand. And yes, the sunroof peeling is normal. Mine does it. I just dont care about it. Blizzaks are a good choice for winter only tires.

The sunroof thing really sucks, but I guess noone really looks at the sunroof so... I am considering having the tint fixed/redone, but I don't want to do it and then have the same problem again. I have other places to spend my money and other things I want to do with the car. Glad to know it's not just me.

Thanks for all the "welcomes" :-)

party2go, those tires look really nice! I'll check those out. Now I just have to figure out where I am going to store my current tires during the winter. My boyfriend has an EVO so our storage unit is already pretty full of his "car stuff" and multiple rims and tires. This being into cars and moding etc etc is such a slippery slope
