look awesome
i wouldnt use the words "look awesome"
lol we had a topic goin on this a while back but we all have our own definitions on this...
http://www.laughatrice.com/ is a good one. basically i look at a ricer as someone who does stupid and useless fuking mods such as...
1. Huge aluminum wings that serve no purpose.
2. Lambo doors, this has been debated, some say rice, some dont, yes they look cool, but again, serve no purpose
3. Roof scoops
4. Neons/Underglo kits
5. Outrageous graphics that resemble 2F2F
the list goes on.

To me...Part, not all, of accusing people of being a ricer is thinly covered racism. To see this all you have to do is read some of the comments and it is apparent.
Another part are the people who go way over the top. Put huge 3 foot spoilers on with a huge $20 exhaust tip.

To me, rice is anything that either detracts fromt he appearance of the car, or misrepresents the car as something it isn't.

To me, ricer is just a stereotype. As such, it has a very shallow meaning and is pointless to seek a true definition. Usually the lazy and ignorant use the term to describe a car that has been modified distastefully (yet some others, even if only one, admire the modifications).
U can sort of equate it to hip hop; breakin', emcee, graffiti, and turntablism are all forms of expression. Ppl under this culture originally used these as vessels to prove their existence (spatially, vocally, visually, and musically) as an oppressed ppl located in the lower rung (primarily due to racial injustice) of a society w/ class hierarchy.
I see "rice" as the "hip hop" reaction to the modern car craze--to many, the car is a symbol of independence and status in which class hierarchy is evident. Keep in mind that, unlike Mr. Rich Fellow, some ppl can't afford the name-brand BPU's or fancy aero components. Hence, we see these eccentric forms of expression. It's just uncool for me to laugh at that.

IMO... Ricer = Big alluminum wings with no purpose... bigger exhaust tip then actual exhaust simply for sound, no HP. Excessive stickers that give u "20 more hp". Body kits that really aren't made for that car.
Most ppl I call ricers are the ones that have those "mods" and think that it makes them 10X faster then my car... Then if u race them and beat the **** outta them they wont admit it. I haven't been beaten by 'ricer' in my all trac... some of them were cool and were like, wow, nice car... and others were like, yea well, ur car is a POS lets go again.... and again... and again, till they finally gave up and turned off.
btw... hombre... ur car is not rice :P urs looks nice

lol thanks sakara, wanna race some time?? i'll get my ass whooped but it'll be fun ;) The mian thing people call my car rice for is the hood spoliers and the tialights. MY car came new stock with the same tailights that blue celica above has. They have grown on me now. I also have excessive neons inside ;) But ohwell. I like it and it is cool to me :)

i said it as concisely as possible. maybe my argument was too deep for ya... "rice" is a stereotype and, therefore, has no credible meaning. can't get simpler than that. try visiting dictionary.com and learn to read gooder, homes.

a ricer, or a "riced-out ride" is one that has aftermarket, or even "one-off" custom modifications made to the car with poor quality, lenient fitment, and cheap parts. These parts usually do not help the driver pick up awards at shows, or even girls at the corner for that matter.

I think rice is putting stuff on the car to "fit the image" but in a non-fashionable way. For instance, a back bumper for a dual exhaust w/ only one exhaust. Kind of like the project ended somewhere before complete. Or a bodykit miscolored because you didnt want to pay to paint it, so you "meant to do that". I see alot of cars that some would consider "rice" but are clean and complete, and I do not consider them rice. I may not do some of the same things to my car, but you have to respect them for the effort.
Since rice is racist, can we call the homeboys out west "wheat" or "corn"? Here in FL, we can be "orange". I'm not sure of a non-meat product for New England, so how about "lobsta"? Also, my roommate moved in over the weekend, she spilled rice all over the backseat of her Jeep Wrangler...does that make it rice too??? (For the slow or mildly retarded, I'm not serious)
