So Im thinking of trading my 01' GTS in for a IS300. I have always loved these cars. I would only consider picking up a 00' or a 01' for $$ reasons. What do you guys think...? I think a IS300 is a good way to say "Hey, Im grown up, but I still can have some fun."

So too yuppie...?

I think you mean 01, and 02 because 01 is the first IS300 in the states

I love The IS 300 also but I would want to get a 5 spd. I think the earlier years are auto only.

Or you can wait and get a G35 manual or 350Z. I know you were posting about the Is300, but I just wanted to give you some options.

The IS300 has a turbo kit out for it. I was at IS300.net and the kit was for ready for order.

As for the IS300, it's a very nice car but the only thing I don't like about it is that the back seats are way too SMALL for a sedan. I know it's a sport sedan but they couldn't have given it a little more leg room in the back. I drive most of the time w/ just me any my girl but they back seat sucks. That was the one of the big reasons we ended up with a 02 BMW 330i instead of a IS300......

It also has a "soft paint" issue, do a search in that forum and you will see it has the "soft paint" probelm some Celica owners had.....

As for the age issue, no big deal. Me and my girl are 23.

Just keep your car. But if you really want to trade it in, I'd wait for the RX-8.

yep the 2002 5spd IS300 is the first standard trany for lexus since the 97' GS300 so unless you can find a used 2002 5spd i'd only buy a new one cuz its really hard to drift in an auto!
