TV in console pocket? Stealth install

I've done exhaustive searches on this board to see if anyone has put a TV behind the center console pocket, but I can't find any info/pics. Obviously the entire back side of the console will need to be hacked apart to make it fit.. I just want to see if anyone's done it.

I want to keep the factory radio in its place and have the TV totally hidden for anti theft reasons. I'd like the Eclipse AVN or Alpine.

Haven't done it but there is so much available room back there I'm sure a competent custom shop could fabricate something for you.

On another note nice collection of cars :drool: and is that actually a 1000hp Supra that you have?????

Could very easily be done. It could also be done to whereas your stock headunit will still light up and respond to buttons, but it won't come through the speakers (if you wanted). It'd be very easy to. Just alot of elbow grease involved with this sort of project.

A few years back (before JDM consoles were available by import) I tried stickin' one in the "Sunglasses Pocket". But I eventually upgraded everything to the JDM console.

It could definately be done by a good custom shop. I'm selling my basically new eclipse AVX2494 in the for sale section, not to drop a plug or anything

There isnt THAT much room behind the dash.. for a monitor yes, for a double din source unit with display- no.

^^ Id agree with that. You can do it but it will be alot more than just fiberglassing. Ive started a search as well. Most people seem to just buy the jdm for monitors but they just dont hold a big enuough screen. I need one for like an 8 in widescreen. It may be possible to just get a jdm and dremmel out some more room but i think custom iis the way to go. But then again if you want to put a whole head unit in there rip it up and see what kind of room you have to play with.
