there u go..
my opinions: perfect for my tastes. at first i wanted AW1200X but they didn't have them so i got the excursions. after everything was installed and i listened to it.. it was perfect. it hit really hard and all the mirrors on my car was bumpin' heheh. My seat bumped too and i can feel it in my chest.
the amp puts out 120watts constant.. 225watts max.. i was amazed with such low wattage to bump that hard. the sub handles 500 watts.
I listen to trance and hip-hop/ R&B.

question: do i need to break them in? and how do i keep it from blowing them. i'm afraid if i turn it up too much it'll blow..
tips and suggestions for new sub/amp owner is appreciated.

Yes, all new speakers will break in over time, most audiophiles that get home speakers will turn on the radio in the morning and let it play all day while they are at work to do this. But it should take a week or so for your sub to be fully broken in i would think.
As for blowing the sub, if you set the gain on the amp correctly you shouldn't have to worry too much about it. To set the gain, turn the gain on the amp all the way down and the volume on the radio up to about 1/2 to 3/4 full volume. Now turn the gain on the amp up until you start to hear the first signs of distortion in the sub. Now back the gain down until the distortion goes away. Tada, your gain on the amp is set.

looks good... who installed everything? you?
from the looks of the pictures it isn't a very clean install. seems like the amp's wires are everywhere.
hide the wire's, it looks alot better.
anyway, how much for that amp??

Heres a picture of my setup. You should mount your amp at a place with air flow so it won't overheat and then hide the wires. http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/9a3b46cd/bc/GdUp4RmFtUp%27s+RidE/Trunk.jpg?bcmYSC9Ap.jQ9zgC

really i dunno.. the amp msrp is 299.99 tho. i told them to leave the amp on the flour.. cuz i'm planning to use the trunk still to put stuff in. thing is they scaped out on the ground wire.. it was like less than 1 foot. damn..
as for running it at half power.. is that the .6 -> 6.4volts adjustment knob?

i am sorry...my mistake i meant to say half volume on your deck.
you just want the voice coils to (for a lack of better words) burn in.
You will know how loud to make it...use your gut judgement...in a few hours after that...crank it!
