Im seriously considering shaving the top grill on the front bumper all together, will this hurt anything? Does this really cool the engine at all? Anyone with any input please let me know. Thanks.

you mean filling it in? It would have slightly ess air going to the engine bay but nothing serious esp f you have a cai. I have heard of folks doing it before and never heard any problems.

Yeah, having it filled...
I have a SRI, but I don't think it would be a big deal.
Who had it done? Any pics?
Bomex front doesnt have a top air inlet does it?

my car came factory without that scoop so it must not be important if toyota took it off.

I thought the 05 action package front had a very small slit in it's place? It's not totally filled in.
Kory, I think it would look good if you put a Toyota symbol in it's place, kinda like how the 03's have theirs mounted. As of right now, in the chop, it looks like something is missing.

yea it has a little slit in it but its fake there is a little black plastic piece that screws in it and no air can get through. you cant see it unless you are up close to it.
But it looks kinda plain with nothing there. But its your car do what u want with it.

if you have a stock intake it may affect your air going in...

but the stock intake doesnt even collect air from that area or at least mine didnt it got air from a little extension that went down and one that went back.

:werd:
It won't affect airflow into the engine bay. If anything it would have an eefect on the amount of air going to the radiator but it would be fine! It does look a little finky though...maybe better with the toyota emblem there.

I thought of puting a TRD emblem there actually.... I just thought maybe to keep it superclean, nothing, but perhaps you guy/girls are right.... looks a little off with NOTHING there.

i'd suggest getting a grillcraft set. it'd fill up the gaps and the grills would fit flush and tastefully. assuming of course you had a stock bumper...

Yup, that's what I'm saying. When I read the thread I was thinking about what you did to your front, and how much better it looked with the Toyota symbol there.
