great car man..i had one for my econd car my dad bought it for me for some reason and as a good investment..i had a very rare model...i had a special edition slk AMG from germany that they had only sent 500 to the us in 2000 when i got it..but be careful becasue the top always gets jammed/...take excellent care of all the parts..i did that and still had sh*tty problems with it....i sold it because i bought my celica for a different car and soemthing to play with and i couldnt take the benz anymore...and now i have to keep my celica outside becasue my dad bought a new toy...he better lety me drive it..he just picked up a new 550 maranello...got its beutiful..i will take some pics and post them and if i can find soemone witha scanner i will post some pics of my AMG...

Yikes. thanks for tellin me.. i will take super care of it! even if it jams theres a latch u can pull to manually open and close it. Yea when i got the car it had already came with aftermarket audio system. it has 2 *inch JBL subs in back of the driver and passenger seat, Blaucant or however u spell it GPS system with 7 cd chagers and a amp mounted in the trunk. Its pretty tight but i will be gettin a new car soon and give this car to ma sis.
The only think i hate about the damn SLK230 is that ****ing ESP (Electronic Skid Protection) is enabled by defualt and u can turn it off but theres a bright ass amber Light with an eclamation Mark right in between the speedomitor and the rpm guage. Its soo annoying! Blinds the **** outta ya!

I beard the SLK230 is slow.. is it true?

slow hahah..well all i know is mine wasnt slow ...and niether is the kompressor slow..its got almost 200 hp and that car is light as hell....its an I4 supercharged....and that amber light was the most annoying thing..i used to trun it off all the time to drift and one time i did it at night (stupid) and the light was blinding me soo bad that i almost took out a telephone pole..well with that car i';m sure the telephone pole would have taken me out...and my car never had a latch to put the top down manually..damn they muist have figured it ut when they heard me complaining constantly trhat my top always got stuck as the trunk opened and the top was halfway between down and up....and GTSLAID what are u talkin about when u say the cars that they use for the drive through..i dont get it....anyway the slk was a bad*ss car ..handleing=amazing

P.s- the benz reminded me of that movie where that guy gets that lambo countach and it keeps f*ckin up on him and he gets chaced by that guy with the jag..i dont know the movie..its kinda old but really phat..does anyone know what movie it is??

Its a bit slow compared to the GT-S. Even the 320 is probably lightly slower than the GT-S. The only slk with balls has the AMG badge on the back. ;) (don't know the specs on new slk's tho)

REDLINE actually if you read my first reply on this post the 230 kompressor is prety much identicle to a gt-s and the 320 slk will smoke a gt-s if driven right..i had a special edition slk AMG that there were only 500 sent here in 2000 ..it was basically the same exact performance as the new AMG but this was before the new SLK 32 that i had this..it was a rare car in tis country...if i find a scanner i will post my pics of it for you guys

WILLIS 5050 exactly i have my reasons..but i like the looks of the celica and at the time i was gonna buy a gt-s but i heard that the gt has a better potential for turboes and crazy mods if they ever come out with them..but i am planning on putting a turbo in very very soon....plus im only 20 and the benz was too much for me..and it was an investment..i sold the car for more money than i bought it for...casue the value justw ent up becasue of how rare it was....hope i cleared it up
