View Full Version : Suzuki Aerio faster than a GT!????

I was watching Motorweek today and they tested the Aerio fastback and it does 0-60 in 8.3, didn't catch the 1/4 mile time though.

Isn't that faster than a GT?? Seems sad that an econobox could beat the GT...

ugh.. the GT is a mid 7 second 0-60.

I don't know much about the Aerio. Nice looking vehicle. But I doubt it :) The only Suzukis that can whip me have two wheels.

Might be close. The sedan weighs 2600 lbs, has 141 hp and 135 torque, and their max torque comes at 3000 RPMs. The wagon weighs close to 2700.

Did they race an auto or stick? I think the GT auto does 0-60 in the low 8's.

It was a stick and it was the wagon version - the sedan doesn't look too bad.

I think they got 16.5 for the 1/4 mile in the aerio sx hatch, manual. not that bad.

u know for all magazine tests like road and track and motor trend then never rev the engine over it's redline so they are always slower than what a good driver could do.

the new suzuki sucks ..the only cool part is that the speedometer shows it in the electronic numbers...

the GT is too light. 2414 vs. 2600 for the lightest Aerio.

best mod would be to strip the Aerio of 200lbs, then it'll be faster than a GT...handling-wise i dunno, what's the verdict on that?

I read that Suzuki is going to make an All-Wheel Drive turbo charged Matrix wannabe that will have 200+ HP. Anyone else seen or heard this too????

my friend bought an automatic Aerio and i raced him for the hell of it with my auto gt celica and i won by quite a bit. i also drove it after we raced, and the turning radious was pretty good, but i like the feel of my celi much better. The aerio has hella room under the hood though, i was like damn!!! i could practically get in the engine bay. Maybe it woulda been a closer race if i didn't have CAI, Exhaust, and header. But he got smoked

its a suzuki they only make good motor bikes
