I bought the greddy type s boost contoller so i could boost at 10 psi occasionally... At 8psi i have low boost set and high boost at 10psi, when boosting at 8 everything is fine but when going to 10 psi its like the turbo fluctuates in speed its not a steady boost through the rpm band like at 8psi and i can hear it doing this too, i also noticed it doesnt kick in until 3.5-4k rpm .. my afr is a steady 11-11.5 max at 10psi also

Are you running GTS injectors or bigger?
The turbo should keep up 10 psi easily, maybe Gas knows..

i wouldn't run 10lbs without upgraded internals anyways.

stock internals may handle up to 10 psi so i heard. anything beyond that, internals have to be upgraded.

You need to work on your tuning of the Greddy. It's steady at 8psi because that's the wastegate's setting with no input from the Greddy.

I dont know tat boost controller but I guess it has an electronic boost sensor. Make sure you make boost related map with using the greddy pressure sensor and do not use the maf related map what you had with the setup.

the wastegate is set at 6psi.....

I too am not familar with that controller, but it sounds like the wastegate is not staying completely closed till the maximum pressure setting of 10 psi, therefore causing the turbo to spool up slower. Varify the installation and correct setting of the boost controller. GT28R should have no problem w/ 10 psi on our 1.8L--sorry if this reply was something you already knew!

i have the early k04 turbo

gotcha--a turbo of which the specifications are pretty tight lipped

Check the "gain"settings on the boostcontroller. You might have to change the gain a bit to have it set at the correct boost. You can tune the boostsettings as following:

Go to highway and start with setting gain at 1. Then push full throttle and see if it's boosting at 10PSI. If not, too low or fluctuating, then up the gain by 1. Continue doing this until the boost is correct. Also, when this is done, it should spool up fast again, since the boostcontroller will open the wastegate ASAP, giving it the chance to spool up straight away.

Let me know how it worked out. Also, don't do this alone.

^ def gonna try that , I think that might be the problem, i have never messed with a boost controller before

is 10 psi safe on stock internals for a stock gt-s running a Gt28RS (c2 stg one kit) with 550 injectors and upgraded fuel pump.....running 10psi just when getting on it, not daily driving?

I have heard that 10psi is the max you should go on a gt... I would think you couldnt go that high on a gts becuase of compression.. but there is another thread around that someone has boosted 10-11 psi on stock gts internals and is running fine.... so not really sure.
