Opinions of Alpine Type R components??

So what do you audio experts think of these speakers???? I was looking at picking up the front components as well as the rear coaxials ( Both Type R's) for $400 installed. How is the quality compared to the MB Quart's and Focals. I listened to all three of these and I liked how the the Alpines sound. The MB Quarts were really harsh on the highs and the focals were similar to the Alpines. Opinions please!!!!!!

If you liked them best, go for it. Alpine makes good equipment.

Type R is the best Alpine makes. Alpine dosent do as well as others when it comes to speakers but there are still really good speakers.

I've heard nothing but good things about the Type Rs. You can't really go wrong with those.

Type R isn't te best that alpine makes, but they are sweet Components! are you looking at the ones with the blue cone, or the silver cone with the R logo on it?

Silver Cone....they are the new type r's. I know they have a higher end model with blue cones though!!! To rich for my blood!!

sweet, $400 's a good deal, they are agreat sonding speakers! I like them better the the type X (blue cone).

The type-r's are sweet speakers...they are brighter than most competing components in the same class...The X-Type speakers have a bigger range, and they have a bigger X-over allowing for more tuning, but the Type-R's are definitely a nice buy.

In fact, I'm looking to get those for my car.
