Is it really worth it to get some like redline?

I can't speak from a Celica viewpoint, but I was shocked after I installed a tranny temp gage on my Nova. I had a 3500 rpm stall converter on a TH-350 3 speed, and the temps would spike over 240F before I put on an additional tranny oil cooler.

If Redline has a higher temperature tolerance than the stock oil, or better friction characteristics, then it may well be worth it.

In any case, definitely replace the oil in accordance with the Toyota schedule, or more often if you really beat on it.
