My car has no problem shifting when im driving around at normanl RPM's and shifting into 2nd. The problem is when I am racing my car and I shift from 1st to 2nd at 8000 rpm's and it feels pillow soft going into 2nd and it is near impossible to power shift or get it into gear. Around 2000 miles ago I put in a toyota rebuilt transmission, a new clutch, along with new linkage so maybe it is supose to feel like that. But when I shift into any of my other gears like 2nd to 3rd it has a stiff fealing and is eaisy to power shift. Would a sort sifter help or some new cable berrings, please post.

What do you mean by "power shifting?"
Shifting without the clutch, without letting off the gas?
When you say pillow soft, is that a bad thing?
power shifting is really bad for your tranny

All i ment by power shifting is just high RPM shifting. I still take my foot of the gas and I still push the clutch in I just try to get a scratch, well at this point I just try to get it into gear. What I mean by pillow soft is it has no fealing when im trying to get it into gear. The car just doesnt want seem to go into 2nd gear like the other gear. After like 2 secounds it does go into gear but you feel a little click. When I shift into any other gear at high RPM's its fine. My friend thought it was the syncros in the transmission.

Just give it a short little gas when you shift to 2nd.....

I was just getting ready to post the same thing. Saturday night I almost lost to a Conv. 96 GT because when I shifted at like 7500 it wouldn't go into 2nd and I reved it to about 8200 (I'm lucky I didn't try to shift at a higher rpm) Anyway does the Speed Source Shifter Cable Bushing Kit help this because one of these days I want be so lucky?

So do you think their is any problem or is it just me, because all my other gears are easy to shift into. The main thing I wanted to know is could it be the tranny. If you dont think it is the tranny, as said before, do you think the speed source shifter busings would help. I also wanted to know what are the Kumosport Shifter Bushings and are do the bushings do the same thing as the bushings in B&M short shifter kit?
