Im thinking about purchasing aftermarket brake lines. I was wondering what the pros and cons were to these....
What exactly is the difference in terms of braking performance for these? Im guessing it may have to do with response, but I could be far off.
less "spongy" feel , more direct braking! get the Stoptech ones!

i dont know of any cons with the stoptech SS lines lol, maybe bleeding the system afterwards is the only con

So do they just give you the "feel" of giving you better brakes? Or do they actually work better?

Been wondering about this myself -- seems like its mainly for racing purposes ... something to do with improving heat transfer for brake fluid in the lines maybe?

In order to have better brakes you need just that, better brake pads or a BIG BRAKE KIT!
The way the stainless steal brake lines work is: they do not give away (stay rigid and don

SS lines make a noticable difference in the braking feel because they don't expand like rubber ones when you put pressure on the pedel. All they do though is give feel. But BBKs only make your brakes more fade resistant due to intense braking. BBKS are only bling unless you track your car so unless you do they are no "better" than stock.
I "track" my car, and the braking was improved with the BBK!
I would say that the distance from 60 to 0 mph was (lowered) 10 feet cold(comparing with the stock system)! And all warmed up(tires) ,about 20 feet less on compound R tires! And the brake fade is non-existant.

See what I need improvement on is 0-60. And oh yea, I CANT afford a BBK!!!

0-60 or 60-0? ;) If it's the latter, then better tires will also significantly improve braking.

You could also upgrade to better brake pads. Anyone want to start a list of some suggestions ... (I haven't needed to change the stock brakes yet, and when I do I have a set of the TRD pads waiting to go on :p: )

well, im about to get the stoptech lines. i put on my powerslot 12" rotors with stock calipers and trd pads and they are 10x better than stock...especially if you go up in rim size significantly.. im runnin 18s and with my stocks, my stopping power sucked. after i got my powerslots everything works great. now im about to add some lines and brake fluid and bleed these babies

To be honest I put in on brembo rotors, trd pads, stoptech brake lines, and ATE super blue racing brake fluid and really cant tell much of a difference. (call me crazy) If I mod another car I dont think the braking system will get much attention from me, unless the factory system has issues/deficiencies.
Just thought I would note that I have the stock 16 inch rims and do not "track" my car. I hardly ever find myself in a situation where I need to brake hard. So maybe its I havent havent pushed the car hard enough to tell the difference.
