It was disscussed a lot in here but Ive never seen an actual kit for it. In fact I've never even seen it actally done before - just here say.

In my opinon you think it would be more involved than just a bolt-on. Does anyone one know????????

ok... i did alot of searching on this mod because i was and still am gonna be getting it done (one of these days)

there can not be a direct bolt on door hinge

if you see how our doors open.... the window would catch on the roof (can't swing directly upwards)

so.... alot of modifications would need to be done to accomplish this !!

the whole door jam / inner firewall would have to be completely redone / reinforced

you're front fenders would have to be modified to to allow the door to swing upwards

to allow the door to swing up it needs to pop out.... angle out and swing up and still be reinforced to support the door weight !!

very complicated proceedure to accomplish !! ...but it can be done $$$

very very expensive to get done too !!

i got a price from 20/20 autobody of approximately $8,000 - $10,000

to some cars this is easier to do than to our celicas....... just visualize what would need to be done for it to properly work !!

the kits that are bolt on do not swing the doors straight up you could not do that on any car for under 10k. if you look at the kit you can swing the door normal and up. the doors do more of a butterfly swing then scissor. it can be done without doing all the modifications to the car. the hinges in the kit replace the stock and then a gas shock in added to help the door lift. no repainting and no body changing.
