I assume you cant use the same donut spare if you go from a 16 inch wheel to a 17.

You still can use the spare, because the tire circumference shouldn't change by more than a percent or two (there's more wheel, but less tire). Might get a bit weird if you're running too big a tire, like some 18", and all 19", but I don't know if any damage could occur.

Also, for those of you who are considering adding a limited slip differential, I don't believe they will be able to use any kind of compact spare tire on the drive wheels (the front wheels on the Celica), because I think using the compact spare with a LSD can damage the LSD. If you got a flat with a LSD you'd have to put one of the full-size rear tires on the front, and put the spare on the rear.

Well, it shouldnt be too bad since you are not supposed to drive on it for too long and not over 50 mph. If you follow the guidelines and rules set forth by those Toyota people n whatnot, you should be fine. Unless it's cool to drive around on a donut in your town ... then its all different ... :)
