Are they worth it? or a just a waste of money?

Any brand you'd recommend if they are any good?

They're all a waste of money. If you've seen the rear crossmember, you already know why. ;)

just an appearance mod - if anyone is looking at the undercarriage... ;)

I think each forum should have a sticky listing the associated ricer mods. This forum would have the rear lower tie bar and that bizarro trunk brace that someone makes.

Really? Why do you say the rear brace is useless?

I could see how a front strut brace isn't necessary as Toyota has one for almost every model except for the new Celicas, but why build a rear brace if it does nothing?

Not challenging your conclusion per se, just curious for more info, as I was interested in getting one or both...

Along these lines, if not the strut braces, what sorts of suspension mods (besides the obvious, struts, springs, and sways) would you recommend?

^^^
rear strut brace is an effective suspension mod - the question was concerning a lower tie bar...

Someone post pics so he can get the point. I am too lazy. I rear lower tie bar is NOT the same thing as a rear strut tower bar.

The lower rear tie bar goes under the car and attaches to the crossmember, the rear strut bar goes inside and attaches to the strut towers. If you've seen the rear crossmember, you'd realize that using any bar would be the equivalent of trying to brace it with a toothpick. :p:

Oh, okay -- sorry. Must have misread the one of the earlier posts -- didn't even know they made ones for under the car :p:

Thanks for clarifying!

the parts it "tightens up" are already solidly (made that word up) Mounted to the frame...it really cant do anything but look pretty from a distance.
