I've had my celica for about 3 years now and the engine is just about done and since i modded it ofcourse the warranty will not cover it and i still owe about 9k on it. there are alot of other small problems that i let get out of hand so this leaves me no option but to blow it up and i'm a little curious on how to approach this situation. Has anyone done this before? Is there a way to pop the ignition to make it look stolen? I know this isnt right but i've been payin out my a** for insurance because of all the points i have so the insurance company will def break even atleast. I've been posting on here for about 2 1/2 years also but because this isnt exactly legal i changed it so please dont reply with newbie comments. Its been a great 3 years but its now time to move on..thanks in advance..o0o0o and i'll be having a close out sale on a lot of good stuff...so0 keep your eye open in the for sale forum

Step 1: post your intentions on the internet
Step 2: follow through with your plan
Step 3: come back and gloat about your brilliant scheme
Step 4: get busted because you're not too smart
Step 5: PROFIT!

who the fuk cares... about all this "you're gonna get caught" bullshlt. kinda like when my friends, show worthy car, got stolen... the cops said they would look into it but couldnt promise anything. they also told him to try to get leads on his own :chuckles:... they dont give a shlt, so who cares.
do exactly what silv3rone said, park it in some shlt-ass city with the windows down over night, in fact leave it there till it gets stolen.
Go to a Honda forum and ask them.
yeah some of those fukers do it all the time ;)

You can't even afford a new car or let alone afford the one you currently own. Bravo.go to a 350z or a supra forum and you dont see comments made like on here...some of you guys have alot of growing up to do.
Then go there and ask them and see if you get any helpful responses. And it seems like you have some growing up to do. Perhaps you need to make more than minimum wage so you can afford to maintain your car.
Wow, you live on your own, so do I. The difference between you and I is that I can live within my means, and you struggle to keep your head above water.
Good luck moron.

You know what is cool though, the fact that you owe 9k on a car that sounds like it's screwed, and your bad driving has caused you to have expensive insurance. It makes me happy when I see stupid people in these kinds of situations. Hope it all works out badly for you :)

pour water in your gas tank, park your car down town, leave the interior lights on, leave the keys on your passenger seat and walk away. Hopefully when you come back your car wont be there and when/if it gets found, it will be hydrolocked :D

Alright Ill give advice cause this is how its done. Take $50 and give it to a homeless guy to steal your car and smash it into a wall. Hell do either get away or get arrested and get free lodging and meals. But he might take your 50 bucks and drive off without smashing it so you never know

I know exactly how to do this and I know people who have done it and I even know someone whose insurance company is offering a $60K reward to someone that has info. on his car getting stolen because his insurance company speculates he might have stolen his own car. Has he been turned in yet?? No. However, it goes to show that not only will the police look into this but your insurance company might as wel,l and usually they do. In any case I know exactly what you can do and can even tell you a way to get away with it, but I am not going to tell you because #1 it is wrong, #2 you will ultimately cause a lot of other people's insurance to go up plus your own and from the sounds of it you cannot afford that so...! Anyways if you are lucky you might have some Honda guys tell you something, but I doubt it because nobody is stupid enough to talk on an open forum about doing such a thing. Anyways I could go on and on about this but i wil leave it at that.
Besides, have you thought about what you are going to do about transportation after this?? The insurance company will only give you what they think the car is worth which means they may give you $6K for it and you owe $9K leaving you with $3K to pay on a car that doesn't even exist anymore. That is just stupid and if you cannot pay to fix your car then how are you going to buy another one, especially with the negative equity you have amassed?? Good luck on that one cause even if you do find someone to loan you the money then they are going to charge you out the ass, putting you in a bigger hole then you are already in. i don't see this being much help for you at all even if you managed to pull it off. The only way I see you coming out of this is if you have some $20K worth of cash to spend paying of your current loan plus the cost of a new car. Then again, if you had that I suppose you could just fix what you already have and still owe on. You are just digging yourself a bigger hole my man. Good luck.
Ahem, this is wrong in every sense of the word. You're underhanded, sleezy and I hope the negative karma comes back to bite you in the a$$

you lack the responsibility that should be required to even think of buying a car. check an insurance fraud forum instead- you'll probably find more help.

its funny how people really think they know whats going on when your speculations are wayyyyy off. First off I make far from mininum wage...i have another vehicle, it doesnt get good gas mileage and i work 45 min from my house..i have plenty of money to maintain the celica but why? the problem occured out of no where..probably sucked water up the intake(my fault for not gettin the air bypass put in)but its to late now...the engine is done..why would i pay for a new gt engine which i'm sure will cost a pretty penny for and the labor to put it in...the gt is not fast at all..plus its my daily driver so putting a turbo in was never an option...yes i owe 9k on a 2003 and i have gap insurance which means if the car is worth 6k they will pay the other 3k...and you guys talk about this is what causes insurance rates to go up? you dont think honest people get into car accidents?...you dont think honest people get dui's?...and i guess you dont think honest people get their cars broken into? it doesnt make this right but it also doesnt make your insurance jump 50$ a month...can someone tell me when their insurance has gone up for something that they didnt do??? switch to an insurance company that rewards people individually for their good driving records if you want to bit*h and moan. I've been paying almost 500 a month to drive my car because of all the points i have...yes its my fault without a doubt but guess what I"M PAYING FOR IT...and if you smart guys do the math thats 12k to the insurance company in the past 2 years...i've never made an insurance claim so i guess they have made their money off of me anyway. sometimes things get to the point where your left with only one option...and even after all the sh*t talking goin on i hope none of you ever get in a situation like this...cause its not pleasant

Its an 03. Try and get it fixed under warranty =P If not just fix the car and sell it.
Insurance fraud is going to totally rape you if you're caught. So the question becomes, can you afford to be caught? Pay the fines? Do the jail time, and be ****ed out of potential jobs because you're too cheap to shell out the cash for an engine repair? This whole endeavor will hurt the community as a whole, because these kinds of things are becoming more and more common as more and more people get into similar situations.
You talk about how you make way more tha minimum wage, live on your own, all this other crap and yet still owe 9k on the car? I was making minimum wage when I first bought my car and total loan wasn't even 9k. I paid the car off in a little over a year. So the question becomes, how can you not do it when you're making considerably more money than I was? Then factor in I'm probably working less hours and paying out the ass for school.
Best advice? Take your medicine and pay the consequences of your actions. Cowards look for the cheap way out.

There is a whole lot of stupid in this thread. I hope you get caught slowgoGT.
Look, you can't expect people to bow down to you because you want to engage in an illegal (and immoral) activity. Believe it or not there are people (myself included) who would never consider doing what you want to do. It's simply not an option. You can bitch and moan all you want about having this car on your hands that you can't/don't want to pay off, but when it comes down to it, you're simply assuming that people owe you (because you paid too much for your insurance) and should therefore pay for your bad judgement. That's complete and utter bullsh*t, and you know it.
You nor anyone else on here is entitled to s**t, so go deal with the negative consequences of your actions. the money to pay for your insurance claim WILL have to be paid by someone, it doesn't just grow on trees.
I shall now step off of my soapbox :violin: , and I hope that you learn something from all of this.
WillyK
