You can get Eibach Pro Kit springs and KYB GR-2 struts for less, and they're 95% the same thing as TRD's.does tein tech make shocks as well.. i seen springs and stuff but right now im more concerned about shocks adn the price of them...
Nope, Tein only makes springs and coilovers, but KYB GR-2s are pretty cheap at under $300.

i did some research and it came out to be that kyb g2 are the best!!! shocks to have on ur vihecle... just because its a replancement for the stock shocks and give you stock feel of ur ride.... which is good... there might be few other good performance shocks but im going with kyb g2's thanks blue bomber for the advice!

I'm grad you went with KYBs. I heard those are great just like Tokikos. So what springs are you going to get? Eibachs, H&Rs, and sportline are good. I raced a car here with Eibachs, seems like a good drop, but I don't know about Celicas. Well you're car is going to look of the hook when you'll lower it. Well good luck.

I think you're going to need a spring compressor for this job and I wouldn't recommend you doing it. Bring it to a professional. But if you can get the springs put onto your shocks, the rest isn't too bad (although I've never done it on my celi before)...

Blue, you got any links? I keep seeing the pro kit for around $240 and the trd springs for $180 shipped. Plus the trd springs are designed for the celica. I know the gr-2s are on ebay for 260 shipped so that does save a whole lot of money for the exact same trd struts.

Call around. You should be able to find a place to install them for $150.

Bump again. I am gonna be buying some springs today but if the pro kit isnt much cheaper than the trds im just gonna go with the trds. I found countless threads saying to go with the pro kit cuz there cheaper but I cant find any place that has them for cheaper. Speak up now if you know

Probably because ride quality is a little more harsh over the s-techs. If you want better performance hotchkis sounds like the way to go. Just look out since it lowers the rear more, something about your headlights point too far upwards although I only saw one person complain about that.
can anybody with tanabe df210 tell me what shocks and/or struts they use...

are tein s techs better that H&R springs?
Plummy
09-14-2005, 05:04 PM
I brought this up in my sportbike forum cause there's some smart people over there.
I'm being told that H&R is better than Tein, but it's more spendy. And if you want to stay slightly cheap, go ahead and do the Tein's.
But that thread has gone to crap and apparently I'm spreading rumors about people when I don't even know them or who they hang out with.
Kinda funny if you want to read it:

(lowered: 1.7 in front, 1.4 in back) That will void the warranty on your front struts.

Every spring doesnt perform or handle exactly the same, it's different on every vehicle, even if its made by the same company.

FWD vehicles perform and handle better, especially the Celica, with the rear lowered more than the front.
