The day i bought my and took it home

have a body kit installed that I had prevoislly waited 5 monthes to get before I even had the car .
and I put a set of 18's on the day it was done at the body shop . Then I tinted it 3 days later 20% . That same day I decided tint was not dark enuff. I had it pulled off and had 5% put on 3 hours later . It was the most expensive tint job I've ever had LOL .

Ive learned its best not to rush into things ,and that I am a very indeceisive person LOL . Ive wasted alot of $$$ by not starting out small first and then deciding what I really want ...

I dont remember exactlly since it was like 4-5 years ago . It was the cost of two lifetime warrenty top of the line tint jobs ,plus an hour labor to remove the old tint ... Young /dumb and $$$ to burn pretty much sums up my first attempt at modding my car (oh rice too) .Ive learned alot since then ,and see it as a big lesson . Not one thing I bought back then I still own .I dont want to even think of how much $$$ Ive wasted on parts Ive bought that I've ended up selling with out using . Ive probablly lost more $$$ total than alot of people have spent in mods total . Best advise is do some small , cheaper things first .Then decide what you really want to do with your car . Ask NC.org alot for opnions ,dont ruin your car ..

springs, thats the best mod you could do to a celica. It looks a thousand times better and it gives you better handling assuming you dont take the cheap way out and buy crapy parts.

I bought the s2k antenna before I even owned the car, so that was mod #1. After that, ricer parts followed. Then I woke up from that nightmare, say no to rice.

I did the S2K antenna too, and although its like 1/2 performance, 1/2 appearance, it seriously needs a lowering job. Sits too high stock, and dropping it makes it looks sooo much nicer.

If your car is stock, the best way to go about doing things is to first lower your car and get some rims. Then tint your windows. Will make the car look 10 times better.

Hint: A stock car, lowered with rims looks good. A car with a bodykit, but stock springs and wheels looks terrible.

Lowering the car will give you both an aggressive appearance and added performance.

Cheap? S2k antenna and keyhole covers! 15$ ans 18$ (for the two doors and the hatch.)
Then drop it like everyone else said.

I got my car in the summer, so number one was tint. A good, lifetime warranty, dark tint. Left the car alone for a while, and ended up with my front strut brace, wheels/rims, rear brace, keyhole cover. Kinda back and forth between appearance and everything else.

Exterior
1) Lowered it (TRD springs and struts)
2) BlueBatMobile's smoked headlight overlay
3) JDM style clear sidemarkers

Interior
1) Panasonic CD/MP3 player
2) TRD Platinum Gauge Face
3) Matrix XRS shift knob

That's what I've got so far. I'm happy with the way my car looks inside and out and I don't think I'll spend more on it for a while. Very subtle, but not stock. Maybe in a few years when my door hinges begin to go, I'll get that Lambo door conversion so I don't have to worry about swinging the door out too far.

Rims and a 2" drop were first mods

how much would you guys recommend on the drop? can you change it later?

sexktten
07-26-2005, 07:08 PM
If you get coilovers you can adjust it when ever you want. I suggest a 2" drop. It's low, but not so low that you will bash your car in every pot hole

Save your money for coilovers. If you decide to just get springs first, you're gonna have to pay to get it installed if you can't do it or can't find someone to do it. Then you're going to have to replace the shocks/struts because they will become bad really soon, unless you want a bumpy ride. Then you'll have to pay for the installation of the shocks (now you just paid for installation twice assuming you do pay for it). With all the money spent on installation, springs, shocks/struts, you could have bought a good coilover set such as the Tein basics at least and you can even adjust the height with that. Just my opinion. Good luck.

my very first mod was to get rid of all ambers in my car.. I got clear sides..Sylvania turn signal bulbs..Bats red out..then on top of the red out..I put black out turn signal and reverse..Then got a 15% tint all the way around...Clear makes it look much cleaner in IMHO. My car looks much better..now I need a drop and some rims...Then Its saving up for the Full trail body kit..
